Slice Of Life #108 - The End - Saturday, 31/3/2018

When the 'season' (as I like to call it) of Slice Of Life starts, it is a very happy and exciting time when you yelp and squeal with joy. When the 'season' Slice Of Life ends, it is the exactly opposite. It is a sad and miserable time because 'slicing' is over. Slice Of Life, in my opinion, is a really fun thing to do to occupy your time. Not only is it a fun thing, it actually improves you in many unimaginable ways such as writing, keyboarding, etc.
This 'season' of slicing is going to be a very important 'season' to me, not only because I was able to redo what I did last year - slicing every day, but also because this was the 'season' of slicing that I achieved my 100th slice, which was only 8 days ago (although it seems like ages ago).
"Why do I have this much determination and persistence for slicing?" This is a question that I always ask myself to reflect on my slices. To be honest, I really don't know. All I know is that for a fact, I slice because it's awfully addictive and fun (though addictive in a good way). I actually have way more reasons for slicing. Wait. You can click here and here. I'm also very grateful to my 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Victor for recommending 'slicing' to me.
As this 'season' of slicing draws to an end, I am very sad, but I am still happy because I will keep slicing. This definitely will not be my last post, and I know it for sure. I WILL slice again in the future. I always slice on Tuesdays, and I will never, ever stop. No matter what challenges face me, and how long I have to do it, I will always keep slicing, even if it means for a eternity.

Anyways, I've said it already, and I'll say it again.
SLICING IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Most Updated Reports On Zhi Hong

ANALYSING DATA...

Country: Malaysia
State: Penang
Place: Bukit Mertajam
Feeling: Very happy

Report:
Currently, I am in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Malaysia. It is steaming hot in this hocker store, mainly because this hocker store is open air and it is steaming hot outside. Also, there are 'cooking stations' all around us, which makes it even hotter. I am currently sweating like crazy. There is a fan spinning as fast as a hypersonic jet pretty near me, but it is not making me any more colder. Bukit Mertajam is the place of my mom's childhood, along with my aunt and uncle. My uncle lives here now, and we came here to visit my uncle, and also for something like 'day of the dead'. Wait a second. I need to take a refreshing sip of cold coconut water. So anyways, I am very excited to be here, and I am looking forward to some fun sutff later today and tomorow. Wait again. I need to get on my uncle's car first.
1 min later...
Ah, AIRCOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slice Of Life #105 - I Almost Forgot - Wednesday, 28/3/2018

I almost forgot. To write. Something really, really, important. You might be thinking. Zhi Hong, just get to the point!. I will. If you chill. Well, anyways, I almost forgot to write today's Slice Of Life!
Anyways, today, the main point is not the fact that I almost forgot to write today's Slice Of Life. I just came back from watching a movie called 'Lee Chong Wei: Rise Of The Legend'. In my opinion, the movie was AWESOME!.
In case you don't know, Lee Chong Wei is a really good badminton player from Malaysia. This movie was 2h 15m and was based on his life. Sure, this movie may not be 100% true, but it is very inspiring.
The part that I liked the most in the movie was the Malaysia Open final part. It was about in the end of the movie and what happened there was amazing. At first, Lee Chong Wei won Lin Dan, but then Lin Dan won Lee Chong Wei back. It was up to the final match to see who would win the gold medal. It was really funny because his parents started praying that their son would win.
After fighting for a long time, the score was 13-20. Lee Chong Wei was losing by 7 points. There is really no more hope for him.  I thought. He's getting crushed. I didn't want Lee Chong Wei to lose, as I was from the same country as him, but again, he would.
What I didn't expect, was the fact that he managed to win Lin Dan continuously 7 times. Lin Dan was supposed to be really good. What was he doing? Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan then fought a tough battle, as they only needed to be 2 points ahead of each other to win. Surprisingly, Lee Chong Wei managed to win!
Anyways, the movie was AWESOME! You should go watch it too!
My post will be ended here now. How are you feeling today? What movies have you watched lately? Tomorrow I will have something new to write about. Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog

Slice Of Life #103 - Nothing To Do... (Again) - Monday, 26/3/2018

Today is the 1st day of spring break, and I don't know what is wrong with me, but I have nothing else to write about. AGAIN! I DON'T KNOW WHY! WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO ME EVERY SINGLE TIME  RIGHT WHEN I WRITE MY SLICES? I don't know why. Maybe I am stuck with 'No Idea Syndrome'. Maybe I just have nothing to write about. Maybe me life is just boring and has no interesting parts to it. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I DON'T KNOW!
Anyways, since I have nothing to talk about, I'll just use a really old but useful technic.

Let the boring days end and the fun days start with a

Slice Of Life #102 - Shopping - Sunday, 25/3/2018

Today, I had nothing to do. To occupy our time, me and my mom went shopping. I have to say, it was actually quite fun because we bought lots of junk food (that I could actually eat).
At first, we had to walk under the scorching hot sun to the shopping mall, but that didn't last for long. We went to buy some working clothes for my dad. He doesn't know about the clothes yet, because he is currently in Bangkok attending a medical conference. We will be picking him up later at night.
Then, we went to redeem vouchers, and went to a bunch of boring places. It took a hundred-million years to get to the place where we redeemed the vouchers, and then we had to go to this place, until finally paying for the clothes.
It started to get fun after that. We went to buy some food, and we bought some junk food. We went on a spending spree (not really). I found some crackers that I could actually eat, and I also got some gluten free pasta noodles (is that what you call them?).
Having the food felt good, but I then had to carry kilograms of food to the car. We made a quick stop to eat some delicious food for lunch, and continued the journey that would take days and weeks and months and years and decades and centuries and eternities and time that I don't know how to express to the car.
I opened the car door, and then plopped the food into the car. We were finally done shopping.

Slice Of Life #101 - Terry Fox Run - Saturday, 24/3/2018 - Happened On Friday, 23/3/2018

"3,2,1, GO!" The voice from Mr. Fisher was unbelievably loud as he gave the 4th graders the signal to take off.
Every one of the 4th graders ran out of their domain, and out to the wild. I ran slowly, getting faster with every step. It wasn't long before I was running with the 5th graders, and pushed my way through the moving border of 5th graders. 2 of my friends started to catch up to me, so I ran slower to give them a chance to catch up to me.
As they caught up to me, we all ran at the same pace, only in front of each other within 1 meter. We didn't want to be the only 4th graders running with the 5th graders. When we reached the playground, there were still some 5th graders there.
"Run faster, 4th graders are here." I heard one of them say in a sharp tone.
I ran faster, and motioned for my friends to do so also. We all ran faster, and we managed to overtake the girls that were running in front of us. We ran faster, and slowly there was a gap between us.
It wasn't long before we finished our 1st lap and caught up to some people from my class. They were just on their 1st lap, but we were already on our second lap. We overtook them not long after.
"On your right," We said as we overtook them.
My pace slowed down to a jog, then a walk for about 10 seconds. I knew that I would let others overtake me if I walked for to long, so I then regained my pace. As I ran back out into a "unshaded" area, it was really hot, and I started to sweat like crazy.
I ran 2 more laps, and I took a water break. I needed water. It felt like I was suffering from dehydration. I ran up the slope, and they announced that there was 3 more minutes left. I took off into a run. I overtook lots of people.
Right after I reached the field, they closed the exit. We only were allowed to get 1 more stamp, and the event was over. I was panting like a dog. Taking deep breaths, I progressed to the end to get the stamp, and walked over for a whole bottle of water.
    The event was over.

Slice Of Life #100 - 100 Slices! - Friday, 23/3/2018

After so long, I am finally on my 100th slice! I have to say, writing slices has changed me a lot. I was talking to my teacher yesterday about what I should do for my 100th slice. As I am currently writing this, I am listening to the song "Believer".
On my 100th slice, I am very grateful for lots of things. Slicing has actually built me up in terms of writing and studies a lot. I am thankful and grateful to my parents, for giving me time to slice, and often putting slicing first. I am grateful to my 3rd-grade teacher, Ms. Victor for telling me about this "Slicing" thing. I am grateful to my computer and keyboard for not lagging and letting me do slicing. I am grateful to everyone who reads my blogs, because I've actually met some people that my parents' might know, but I don't know. Those people claimed that they've read my blog, which I don't know how they even got the link to my blog. I'm grateful to my parents' friends for reading my blog and commenting on them. I'm grateful to my friends for reading my blog. I'm grateful to my self for having all this determination and persistence so I don't stop slicing. I'm grateful to everyone who has read my slices and also those who have commented on them.
I have lots of reasons to love slicing, and one of them is because it is just fun. I am always on the lookout for things to write about, my writing has improved, as I am now using internal thoughts.
Anyways, I think that I am going to stop writing now, and go because my free time is almost over. Thanks a lot for everything and all the support! YOU ALL MEAN THE WORLD TO ME!

Slice Of Life #99 - Books! - Thursday, 22/3/2018

YAY! I am happy for 2 reasons. The first reason is the fact that tomorrow is going to be my 100th slice, and also because today my Scholastic books came!
We saw the books in the classroom earlier that day. We had just came in to class and sat down at our seats.
"Scholastic books are here!" L exclaimed as soon as he saw the books. "Yes!"
Shouts of "Finally!" and "Yes" filled the air, as everyone was excited to read the Scholastic books that they had ordered. I had ordered a "Horrible Geography" pack, a "Horribles" pack, which contained of a Horrible Science and a Horrible Histories book, and also another pack.
We had to wait a hundred million years until my teacher finally gave us the books that we had ordered. There was lots of pleading and begging, but our teacher did not hesitate to be a evil teacher and keep the books for herself. It was hers until the end of the day, and it had finally come. I shoved my worksheet inside my folder, and waited for my books to be passed out. My pack was one of the biggest packs in the class (maybe it was the biggest).
Everyone ripped open their packs to check if their books were all here. I opened my pack to check if I got all my books that I ordered, and luck struck, as all my books were in the pack. I don't need to have a heart attack, I thought, because all the books that I ordered are in my pack.
We still have 5 mins of class, and I don't have anything for you to do, so you can have some free time to look in the books that you ordered. I put all the books back in my pack, and closed it (without tape or anything). I went to see what my friends ordered. My best friend, T, ordered this survival kit, and a classmate ZH, bought the same book that I bought - the Mensa "Train your Brain" book.
"School is over. You may go to you ASA (After School Activities) or line up if you are going home." My teacher said.
Everyone groaned. Free time was over. Lots of people stayed back in the class, leaving late because of the fact that they were obsessed with their new books.

Slice Of Life #98 - Batu Caves - Wednesday, 21/3/2018

The sound of children's voices were unbelievably loud on the bus, as everyone was excited for today's field trip. We were making a turn into a place with a massive cave, which was home to the Trapdoor Spider, the rarest spider in the world.
We were all visiting this cave because we were currently in our Earth changes unit, and we were here to learn more about erosion. There was lots of erosion in the caves, but there was 272 steps to climb. Really, 544 steps, because we had to go up, and we had to go down.
It was hard for even our teachers and parent chaperones to get our attention. Everyone was chatting with their friends, not wasting the rare opportunity.
We stopped for some pictures, and then began the tiring journey of climbing the stairs. As we climbed the stairs, we counted at the same time. We wanted to know how many steps there were, and if the 272 steps was correct. I stopped counting after 30, because I was just lazy to count. I had to admit, those stairs were actually pretty hard to climb. It was full of steep steps and monkeys, that everyone was terrified of. Normally monkeys would be scared of us, but those monkeys got so used to humans, as that place was a tourist attraction in Malaysia, they would try and grab your food or anything valuable.
It was still 30 minutes until our tour in the dark cave, so we decided to walk around. We found lots of stalactites, and also stalagmites, but stalagmites were rarer. We also managed to find some pool spars which looked quite cool, actually. There were also quite a few columns, which were like pillars hanging supporting the top of the cave (it's kind of hard to imagine that because columns are also called pillars).
When it was finally time for our cave tour, we wore helmets and kept hold to our flashlights as we listened to the tour guide blabbing on about the rules of the cave. It was great that didn't last long, because I might have fell asleep there.
Going in to the cave was my favorite part of the field trip. Batu Caves held a variety of animals that called that cave home, and we were just visiting, so we had to listen to the tour guide, as he knew what was bad for the animals. We couldn't make loud sounds, and we also couldn't shine our flashlights on the ceiling of the cave, because we didn't want to disturb the bats.
"Now, lets all close our flashlights, and see how dark the cave is without lights." The tour guide said. He still had his flashlight on, while everyone else's was off. "See you in complete, dull darkness in 3,2,1."
Click! The tour guide shut his flashlight. The cave was just complete darkness. I couldn't see anything. Wow! I never thought that caves can be this dark, when we are just in the twilight zone! I was not able to see any source of light as everything was just complete darkness. The sky was pitch black, and so was the ground.
The tour guide turned his flashlight back on. "Ever been in complete darkness before?" He asked. "Well, that's what it feels like."
"Now that I've experienced it, places with no lights won't be considered dark anymore!" J said.
We journeyed on, and we got to see some flowstone. Sadly, we weren't allowed to touch it because or hands may have lotion, moisturizer, or oil that may prevent the rock from growing. If there was any of those things that came in contact with the rock, the rock would not be able to grow anymore. The flowstone was beautiful, and I looked in wonder and awe at it's smooth surface.
We finally came to this part of the cave, where there was wind everywhere. It had things to do with physics, but I had no idea about whatever the tour guide said. Maybe our teachers would know, but we didn't. Standing there, there was wind all around us. It was so refreshing and windy.
Adventuring ahead, we eventually reached the end of the tour. We took some pictures, and the tour guide told us to like them on facebook, if we had accounts (but I don't have one). We also could review them on trip advisor, which I probably will not do. Going out took about 15 mins, but it felt like just 5. The tour had come to an end.
Sadly, we were not able to see the Trapdoor Spider, the rarest spider in the world, but the trip was still really fun. It was a great and fun day, full of awesome adventure.

Slice Of Life #97 - Nothing To Say - Tuesday, 20/3/2018

I have no idea what is wrong with me. I have totally nothing to say and I will probably get comments saying that this post is the most boring post ever. *Headsmack* Well, for one thing, I am certainly looking forward for my 100th post. I don't know how I will celebrate it. Maybe I'll do a small little dance (but you can't see it). This has to be on my blog. That is what I am thinking.
Anyways, back to the topic. Apparently I have decided to search up the definition of bored. Here is the definition of bored.

bored1
bɔːd/
adjective
adjective: bored
  1. feeling weary and impatient because one is unoccupied or lacks interest in one's current activity. - Google

That is how I am currently feeling. Not exactly, but you know what I mean. I also found out that there are other types of "bored". This is another example.

bored2
bɔːd/
adjective
  1. (of a gun) having a specified bore. - Google

That is not how I am feeling, because this is not even a feeling. I don't even understand the definition. Apparently the origin of bored is a "Old English borian (verb), of Germanic origin; related to German bohren ." - Google. Those words were from Google, and certainly not my words.

My post will be ended here now. How are you feeling today? Tomorrow I will have something to write about. It's going to be better than this one.Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #96 - Examination - Monday, March 19th, 2018

"Ok," She said with a strong and bold tone in her voice. "Welcome to the ABRSM examinations."
We all shuffled into the room after looking at the seating chart, sitting down at our seats.
"If any of you have phones in the room, please turn off your phones and put it under your desk." I saw a girl shut down her phone and put it under her desk.
She then continued to speak. "Using any rough paper other than the piece of yellow paper provided is not allowed, and goes against the rules of ABRSM. Any rough paper used that is brought from home is not allowed without the permission of ABRSM, and if this is performed without the permission of ABRSM, the person will automatically be disqualified from the exam." Wow, some strict rules here. I thought. "Candiates from Grade 1-3 have 1 and a half hour to complete the test while candiates from grade 4-5 are given 2 hours to complete their test. Grades 6-7, you are given 3 hours for your exam. Candiates are expected to complete every single question, and they must be completed without help from the teachers. Please check that your test number is correct, your name is spelled correctly, and you stick the sticker on the designated place on your paper." Everyone did what she said.
    "You may begin now."
I quickly took the rough paper off my test papers and begin reading and completing the questions.
I was able to finish the whole exam papers within 30 minutes, and I began to check. After I finished checking once, I saw some people that were also from the place that I learned piano pass their exam papers in to the teacher and they went out of the class. I had finished, but I had decided to keep checking until the test was over because (A), my mom would not be there, (B), I might have some wrong answers, (C) what was I going to do if my mom was not there, and (D) doing the test is funner than standing and just waiting.
The clock ticked, giving me less time for my checks. I had managed to check 4 times already, and I still had 30 mins. I kept checking slowly, until the minute hand hit the 4. I had 10 minutes left.
"Candidates from 1-3 still working, you have 10 more minutes."
I rushed the last check, and right after I was done, the teacher announced: "Candidates from 1-3, time is up. Please leave your test papers on your desk, and after you clean up, you may leave." The test was finally over.
I walked out of the class with my MY KID (a IC for kids), and also my pencil box. It's great to finally be in this freedom. I thought. Wait. Where are the stairs? I saw my mom waiting for me downstairs, but I didn't know where the stairs were. Finally, I found the stairs and then slowly walked down the stairs of the unknown school. The test was over.

Slice Of Life #95 - Camping - Sunday, March 18th, 2018

"Finally! We're here!" I squealed as we got off the car. I was so excited to go to my Cub/Boy Scout campout. The only sad thing was the fact that there was a lot of traffic. Me and my mom set up our tents, then transported our things inside the tent.
After that, I went to the forest and jungle to find my den. We were filming a movie, which was a requirement in order for us to earn our Webelos badge. My classmate, ZL, who was a girl, came to the camp, but (she didn't really participate - she didn't help in doing anything except keep her annoying brothers away) she didn't get to do anything. HA-HA!
I was the producer, but my best friend, T, was director, and he was acting a shark scene, so I got to take over as director. I got to have the script the whole time, and whenever they messed up, the word "CUT!" would immediately come out of my mouth.
After filming, we just got to do some fun stuff. We got to do a scavenger hunt after our pack leader briefed us on what was allowed and not allowed.
Dinnertime was one of the most funnest times. I got to eat dinner with my friends, but sadly, I couldn't eat most of the food because of my allergies. We played around and talked about things that sadly, I will not tell you.
We got to make a real fire, and that was the funnest things. We had to find the wood to start the fire, and basically do everything. We made a fire that managed to burn for a really long time, which was alight when we performed our skits.
The Boy Scouts also thought us different skills such as first aid, pocketknife safety, fire starting, knot tying, and how to deal with flags.

I don't want to bore you to death, so I will end my post here. Those were the funnest parts of my Cub Scout camp. Have you ever went camping? Are you a Boy/Cub Scout? Have you ever made a real fire? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Slice Of Life #94 - So Busy - Saturday, March 17th, 2018

This post will be one of my shortest (and maybe one of my worst) posts because I am currently rushing and don't have a lot of time. My day was really packed, because first of all, I had a lot of classes, such as my swimming and my "piano practice class" because Monday was my examination. I would have had robotics, but I canceled it because I am going camping later with my Cub Scout troop. I am staying overnight with my dad, but my mom is going home. We borrowed a tent from my parents' friend, and I have a sleeping bag, but my dad is going to have to sleep with some pillows, mattress, and blanket. I think that I am going to end my post now, because I have to get to the campsite within one hour now, and I still need to eat lunch and take a bath. Bye for today!

Are you part of the scouting community? Have you ever went camping? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #93 - 800 METERS! - Friday, 16th, March 2018

Today was track and field day. All the boys shuffled like prisoners to the bleachers, not wanting to waste any energy as they would run later. I climbed the stairs to the seats and settled down with my best friends, T and TJ. We started chatting about the story that we are writing together (and aiming to publish it) and some other things.
The girls were in the gym first, and they got to select which events they wanted to do. They got to choose from shot put, turbo javelin, or high jump.
When all the boys came, they started the event. The teachers called us down for some stretches and warming up. After that, it was time for the 800m race, the longest event of the day. The race was with a waterfall start, and I decided to challenge myself to race 4 laps around my school's field.
"Congratulations for choosing the hardest event for today." A teacher said. "Remember, that every step that you take must be at a good pace. If you run really fast in the beginning, then you know what's going to happen."
"Your going to slow down tremendously, and your probably going to lose."
We were lead to the starting line. We all lined up in a slanting formation, looking straight forward. We had to get to a mark before you were allowed to cut in.
"ON YOUR MARK, GET SET... GO!" One of the PE teachers, Ms. Simpson, shouted. We all sprinted as fast as we could, and we all hit the cut in mark like a army. No one was still left running towards cut in mark. As soon as our legs crossed the cut in mark, everyone started to try and push people out of the way, running into the inside lane.
I pushed hard, and soon I was running in 3rd place. The first lap finished in no time, and my pace slowed down even though it was supposed to get faster. I didn't want to waste too much energy. I overtook someone as soon as I past the starting line, and started to go faster so we could get a gap between us. I didn't want him to overtake me again.
On the 3rd lap, I was taking massive breaths. My intake of oxygen was getting slower. I breathed hard, carrying myself with every step that I took.
Finally, it was the final lap. I ran faster, trying to overtake the person in front of me. I remembered not to run too fast, because I would use any bit of left energy on the final 20m. When I got to the final 20m, I ran as fast as I could, not my fastest because I didn't have any more energy. I just managed to beat the other person in front of me, as my leg passed the finish line just before him. My final step that I took in that race was a leap.
I breathed heavily, trying to get my oxygen back. I was out of breath. I felt like I was going to die from lack of oxygen.
Everyone was saying congratulations, but I was out of breath to even talk. I walked as slow as a snail to my seat with my best friends, T and TJ, and flopped down in my seat.

Slice Of Life #92 - Games In My Malay Class - Thursday, 15/3/2018

I was at my Malay class and I had just finished writing 3 paragraphs for a essay.
My teacher clapped her hands, then declared: "Ok, you all have now finished 3 paragraphs, so you guys can play a game now."
We all wanted to play this game where we would have 2 or more rubber bands tied together. We would pull the rubber band back, (going scientific here) storing energy to shoot our rubber band. There was a box that was filled with people (cardboard people), and our aim was to try and shoot down as many people as possible with one shot. We would record the amount of people that we shot, and the winner is the one who shot the most people.
From Cub Scouting, I knew that standing in a straight, upright position was the best position for shooting bows and arrows, slingshots, etc. Shooting rubber bands are just like shooting bows and arrows, so I knew to stand in that position.
I put the rubber band on my index finger and made sure that the rubber band was just at the tip of my finger, so it wouldn't hit my finger and not fly. I pulled the rubber band as far as I could, keeping a good length so that my rubber band would not break.
I released my finger that was supporting the rubber band and let it fly. Off it went, pushing hard against the wind, creating a swosh! sound that rushed into our ears. Finally, it hit a person, and the person fell back and hit another person, triggering the person behind it to fall. It did the same thing again, just like a domino effect.
Yes! I thought. I just hit 3 people down!
When my friend shot, I didn't think that he would have enough power, but it turned out that he had enough power, but he didn't have enough accuracy. The rubber band that he shot was about half a meter off target.

Yes! I had won this round.
"Ok, Zhi Hong has won this round. Time for the next round." My teacher said.
    "Yes! I won!" I shouted.
"Oh, yeah. It's not over yet. If you want a serious competition to see who's better, BRING IT ON!"

Slice Of Life #91 - Currently... - Wednesday, March 14th, 2018

Currently...

I am looking at other random people's blog posts for no apparent reason.
I just commented on someone's post. He had a miserable day.
I just charged a phone because it needs charging badly.
I am writing my Slice Of Life. (Don't know why I said that)
I just commented 'cool' on someone else's post.
I just commented on another person's post about P.E. (physical education)
I see a weird post about Pusheen.
OK. I can see this starting to get boring.

2nd Try *NOT* (My first one was awesome. *I take that back*)

I am going to my phone.
I have nothing to do.
I am writing an Email to my teacher.

5 mins later...

I am playing a game called arrow io.
Shoot! I accidentally closed the phone (oh, and the phone is not fully charged, but I am doing this for you).
I just joined the game.
I died because someone spawn-killed me.
I want to rage at the person, but sometimes I do that, so I won't rage.
I have 3 light-sabers in the game. 1 in front, and 2 at the back.
Someone is chasing me.
I fight back.
I die.

A new game.
I have 6 hearts and a overpowered weapon because I chose them (you can choose different things that make you better once you start the game and level up.
I have tail knives.
I kill 2 people.
Someone with 30 light-sabers comes to kill me (maybe I am exaggerating, but the light-sabers sure were a lot).

I think that I am going to end this post here. What are you currently doing? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #90 - Stomach Ache! - Happened on Wednesday, 7/3/2018 - Tuesday, 13/3/2018 - Drafted on Monday, 12/3/2018

It was early in the morning, maybe late in the night, and I had woke up. The lights were all off except for the one that was shining brightly in the computer room. This was the story.
I stood up, and walked around, clutching my stomach. I paced back and forth, beside and in front of my bed. After that, I went back and lied down, my body was crumpled like a rolled up piece of paper. My eyes stayed open, looking at my pillow. I then stared at the dark, night sky, only street lights providing light. I tried to do stuff to occupy my time, knowing that I could not sleep. Turning to the other side, that feeling felt more uncomfortable. Gosh. I thought. That hurts like crazy. The anonymous feeling became stronger, stronger than ever, just like a burning ball of flame.
I couldn't take it anymore, I was really in pain. I went to find my parents, but they were sleeping. Not wanting to wake them up, I still woke them up, telling them that my stomach hurt. My mom told me to go the the bathroom, so I did. It didn't help much, so I cleaned up and left. My mom helped me rub my stomach, and surprisingly, it actually helped. It worked like magic, as fast as lightning.
The same thing happened again, and I woke up. I went to the bathroom again, but then I managed to fall asleep in there (I know... weird and a little disgusting). When my mom rubbed my stomach, it didn't work. I didn't know why.
After those 2 times, I managed to get some sleep and my stomach has not hurt again. *For now, at least!*

Has this ever happened to you before? Have you ever woke up in the middle of the night? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #89 - Filming a Movie - Happened on Wednesday, 7/3/2018 - Monday, 12/3/2018

After my SLC (student-led-conferences), my whole Cub Scout troop, including me, filmed a movie. This was part of our movie-making badge, which was a optional badge to earn. The important badges were about first aid, duty to God, fire safety, etc. Those where the required badges for your Webelos and Arrow of Light badge.

We had spent a few meetings drafting the movie, and I was the one that did most of the work because I was the producer. The producer had to draft the script, although we drafted the script together. For no apparent reason, 1/16 of everyone else's time was spent playing 4 square.

We managed to take lots of scenes, and I was allowed to transport all the equipment, which was actually quite fun. I also got to look at the camera whenever I wanted, because the producer was the most highest rank. I had to position all the people, and tell them what to do. Sometimes, I even had to act it out for the actors because they didn't really memorize the script yet, or they were doing it wrong. My 2nd best friend, TJ, was the prop director and the producer, while my best friend T was the director. I usually motioned to T to yell "CUT!" because the actors were messing up, but ended up yelling it myself.

The most funniest part was when we were shooting a "calling" scene where 2 people were calling each other, but N dropped his phone, and 5 secs later, the word "CUT!" was yelled by my friend. Usually, directors are supposed to wait a few seconds before they were allowed to yell cut, but I actually don't know why.

Don't want to brag, but our movie should be the best, because our den leader Agung, was a professional photographer, so he had really good HD cameras. I found out that the cameras were really expensive, because he told us that just the lens of the camera itself cost $7,000. That's 28,000 MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) , which is the currency that we are using here in Malaysia.

Now, we don't have a lot of scenes left to shoot, but there is still lots of things to do, because editing takes quite a while. Also, each scene takes us at least 5 mins to film, usually 10-20 mins. Are you a Cub/Boy Scout? Have you ever made a movie? Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #88 - Welcome Home! - Sunday, March, 11, 2018

Today I am going home. I am very sad. We need to leave Bangkok because I have school tomorrow. We are currently in the taxi and going to the airport.
I have to say, the trip was awesome! My dad is going back to Bangkok this weekend, so he is going to have more fun than I will. Wait. He's going there for a conference, so really, he doesn't have lots of free time. The good thing is the fact that he will be learning new things.
Now, back to the slice. My dad came here because he was taking a test, and we just decided to come for fun.
Just an update, I just saw a sign saying that we are about to reach the airport, and I am spelling a lot of words wrong.
The hotel we stayed in was connected to this really massive shopping mall, but we spent more time in other malls. The food was amazing, and we have reached the airport, so it's time to say bye! *For today only!*

PEACE OUT!

P.S JUST REACHED THE AIRPORT.

Slice Of Life #87 - Bangkok - Saturday, 10/3/2018

Now, as I am writing this, I am inside this taxi waiting area waiting for a taxi. Our taxi is going to come soon, so I'm going to rush this post.
I was really happy with my flight yesterday, because last time we ended up waiting 6 hrs for a single flight. Have to be honest, I didn't really know what was happening the whole flight because I slept the whole flight.
When we reached immigration, the ASEAN lane was not open, so we had to use the other lanes that were for people that were not from ASEAN countries. Then, halfway in the line, she let us go into the ASEAN lane because she thought that I was small. Little did she know that I was 10 yrs old. LOL!
I am now typing this in the taxi, and I found out that taxis are way slower than tuk-tuks because they take different routes. For a tuk-tuk, it's 2 km to the place that we want to go to, but for a taxi, its 5 km.
So far I am very satisfied because we have had great food and my dad was able to get a coat made, which would be sent to our hotel at about 9-10 pm later.
Now, I just ran out of time, so bye!

Slice Of Life #86 - Airport - Friday, 9/3/2018

Post: Currently, I am at the airport. I just ordered some food so this post will be short. My posts until Sunday will probably be short also, so I'm sorry. As I am typing this post, I'm feeling very excited. My dad is taking a test, so we are going to Bangkok with him. We are going to be staying in the same hotel that we stayed at last time. Now my food has come, so goodbye!

Slice Of Life #85 - My Dad's Birthday! - Thursday, 8/3/2018

Ok, so today is women's day. With the fact that that's not the main point of the post. You might be thinking, Zhi Hong, just get to the point! Well, if you chill, that's for sure, then I'll get to the point. Okay. So what I am trying to tell you is the fact that my dad's birthday is on women's day.
I just celebrated my dad's birthday with my family. I wrote a card in electronic form, and emailed it to him (this morning), but surprisingly, my dad has only realized it about 10 minutes ago (and it's currently 6:06 pm).
We went to eat lunch, and I got some vegan cake that I could eat. We would always go to that restaurant as a family whenever there was a birthday (in terms of someone in my family), so that I could eat the cake. We just sang happy birthday, and my dad took the first bite of the cake (which I think is a tradition for most of you). Later, me and my dad just started swallowing up the cake like a vacuum cleaner, and my mom took only one bite for whoever knows why.

To end this, I just want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dad (and any of you out there that might have a birthday on March 8), and also happy WOMEN'S DAY to not exactly a person (just random people out there that are women and are reading my post). Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

P.S What we ate before had nothing to do with my dad's birthday, so I won't bore you to death talking about that.

P.P.S. I'm happy that I can finally write such short slices!

Slice Of Life #84 - SLC (Student-Led Conferences) - Wednesday, 7/3/2018

Today was the very day of SLC (Student-Led Conferences). I had a stomach ache that morning (that's probably going to be my 87th post), which was a really bad start to the day. I was walking to my class, prepared to tell my parents what I had been doing in class. I got a slip of paper from my teacher, which told me where to go first, and where to go after that.
My first station was the math station. I showed them my math notebooks and also our "unit books", which were books about each unit that we had (ex: measurement, multiplication and division, equivalent fractions, etc). I was proud of my post assessment, and also how I could convert and add very well. After that, I played a math game with my parents. I completely dominated them because they didn't play with skills (as I like to say), and also because their denominators were too big.
After the math station, we had the science/reading station. I showed my parents my science notebook, and also my research notebook. I also showed them me reading a book for research, which I pre-recorded. We also did a Quizlet (Quizlet is a app to help you learn), which my parents were really good at (only when we did learn) When we did the test, my parents were really bad because they didn't know how to spell the things. Another reason is because when we did learn, they just had to guess because the words were alike to the pictures and the definitions, and also because they were able to remember what they had already selected (Quizlet link here).
The station after that was my writing station. I showed my parents my writing notebook (I think that you should have guessed that without needing me to tell you). My writing goal was to keep on writing. Writing was my favorite subject in school, and I told my parents all about it.
Our last station was to meet my teacher (This paragraph is going to be shortened a lot because there are some things that I want to keep private here). My teacher told my parents my strengths and my weaknesses, and that was about it.

Do you have SLC in your schools? What did you do today? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #83 - No Time! *NOT REALLY* - Tuesday, 6/3/2018

As I was coming back from my Chinese class, my mom told me that we were going to eat steamboat.
"What!" I still need to write my slice!
"Fine. We can go home so you can publish your slice." She said.
"Uh, you might not know that I didn't even draft it yet." I replied. (Usually I draft my slices on Mondays (when it is not March, I still slice every Thursday).
What is this? I thought. I was supposed to write slices everyday in March, and I am 100% sure that she knows that. I would only miss slices only when I really didn't have time (only in March. If it was not in March, then I would do it the next day because it would still be Tuesday in the US). I had to slice. My goal was to not miss a slice this year. I missed a slice last year, but that time was long gone. This was 2018 and she could not change it.
"What!" She said. " I'll have to wait for you to finish writing your slice then."
"Well, deal with it!" I told her. "I really don't want to miss a slice."

AND NOW SHE IS TELLING ME THAT I DON'T HAVE ANY MORE TIME SO...

BYE!!!

Does this ever happen to you? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

P.S: There's more to it, so sadly you don't get to hear it.  I'll leave it as a cliff hanger, and I might tell you what happened in the comments section below.

Slice Of Life #82 - AI Technology - Monday, 5/3/2018

My family and my parents' friends' family ate dinner together. Before dinner, we were talking about robots and AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology. We talked about how next time the world could be full of robots and how some companies already started trying to use drones to send products to others. My dad also said that he watched some videos and said that there is also technology now to help drones avoid hitting things. He watched some test videos of drones. There would be a drone that would try and dodge the other drone that was trying to catch him.
After we ate dinner, he showed all of us a video (my dad). Someone was interviewing Sofia the robot from Hanson Robotics. I thought that it was really cool because Sofia was acting like a normal person. My parents' friends' kids were really surprised because it was a robot. I could see the gears turning inside Sofia's brain. I thought of all the code that it would take to make a AI robot because I know that making a robot itself takes lots of code.
The most intresting part was when the interviewer asked if Sofia liked the movie 'Black Mirror' she said that she did not know the movie 'Black Mirror'. Later, when he asked Sofia what movies she liked, one of them was 'Black Mirror'. I was really surprised because that meant that Sofia was able to download and watch the whole movie in the time the person asked her about 2 questions.

I think that how the world is going deeper into technology and creating more and more complicated robots is very cool. I cannot imagine what the world will be in the future. What do you think will happen in the future (in terms of technology - technology in terms of electrical technology). Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

P.P.S. I'm really happy because I was finally able to write such a short post.

Slice Of Life #81 - Bored - Sunday, 4/3/2018

I am currently very bored. I just watched videos on YouTube. I just ate breakfast. Now, I am writing this post. I am out of ideas. My dad is not here. He is attending a seminar. So, I am very bored. Wait. I just realized. My dad's birthday is coming up soon. Maybe I should write a card for him (I'm actually planning to write an email instead. Saves paper). I take that back.
I am going to do homework. Just kidding. I am currently very bored, but I think that I should talk about a game that I am playing. I am currently playing a very fun hotel game. You have to build and run a hotel, but you have to be smart. You want to be making profit, and not want to be losing money. That is the catch. You can't be too selfish and make a really massive hotel, because then you will have to bare the expenses of losing money. Anyways, let's just get to the story.
Business is booming, and I am very happy. I have just made $561. I just checked how much money a guest has spent, and it seems like he has spent $830. That man must be rich! Oh shoot! I just checked my statistics and I am losing money! My business is not going well! I am earning more money, but I going to take a big risk. Buying 4 more rooms!
I don't understand this game. I really don't! A customer spent $1050 on my hotel! What is life? It's my birthday in the game (with the fact that I wasn't even born yet)! I just fired a engineer for fun. *Not exactly* I fired the engineer because I found out that I hired 2 engineers. I just want to say "Sorry" to the engineer that I fired. I had to. It was for my business.
WHAT IS LIFE? I'm currently just sitting here and someone just spent $1126, which is enough to pay for my total rooms keeping! I'm not having any negatives this month!
Just checked. I have only $52 profit. Shoot!
I'm just going to end my post here.

You should play this game! It's really fun! If you ever play this game, tell me your progress down below in the comment section below! I would love to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

P.S Link to the game here!

Slice Of Life #80 - Laser Tag - 3/3/2018 - Happened Today

Ok. I just came home from a birthday party.  I am so exhausted. We played laser tag. Ok, let's just get to the point.

"Me and my mom were walking on the 7th floor to go to my friend's birthday party. I found the laser tag area, and walked in. My friends were all already in there.
"Finally! You came!" My friend exclaimed.
I was really excited to get going. A person that worked at the laser tag area, who was going to be our guide for the day told us all the events and the activities that we could choose from, but only could do 2 activities. We had decided for the first round to be the solo round. The guide told us that we could get powerups from shooting the targets on the walls, and to earn points we would shoot other people (duh!). He also told us that there were 6 targets. 2 shoulder targets, 2 targets by your tummy, one target on your back, and also a target on your gun. To shoot with your gun, you needed both hands to be on your gun, because one hand was supposed to be on the trigger, and one was supposed to be on the sensor so you could shoot. If you got shot, you would not be able to shoot for 5 seconds. That was all. He told us that direct contact was not allowed, and we went into the arena.
I spread out from everyone, and the radio announced that the game was starting in 5 seconds. I held my gun tight and started to walk around the arena. I found my best friend T, but he didn't shoot me.  I managed to shoot him.
    "Whoa! Cheats!!!"
I just ignored his comment and ran away from him, knowing that he could get me after 5 seconds. Not long later, I was part of a 4 people shootout. We were all hiding behind walls and trying to hit each other. I hit a the birthday boy and his brother, and they both ran away. I think that the reason that I was able to land hits on them was because my shots were both timed and aimed, unlike most people would-just continuously pull the trigger again and again.
Lots of things happened after that, but eventually my friends told me to stop shooting. They had a serious tone in their voice, so I walked to their direction to see what was happening. The birthday's boy's (who I'm just going to call TJ) brother was injured and crying.
    "What's happening?" I asked them.
    "He's injured." They replied.
What are TJ, B, and T doing then? Their boy scouts just like me. The 1st thing to do in this situation is obviously to get help! I thought.
"Ok. I'll go get medical attention." I said, even though it was not exactly medical attention.
"I'll come with you." TJ added (my best friend T and a good friend B were taking care of him).
We found our way to the door where we came in, but it was not a door that you could pull.
    "Shoot." TJ said.
"I think I know what to do."
I pressed the button that said press, because of logic (yeah...).
The door did not open. TJ decided to try and pull the door open, and I tried to pull it open the other side. The door still did not budge. I decided to give the button one more try, so I smashed the button hard.
The door finally opened. We went into the place where we put on our suits, and found the door. We smashed the button again. That door opened. We ran and rushed to find TJ's parents.
    "My brother's injured." TJ said.
    "What?" TJ's mom asked.
    "Just follow us." We replied.
We quickly led TJ's mom to the place that TJ's brother was, and our guide and TJ's mom took care of him.

What would you do if you was in a situation like this? Have you ever helped someone that was injured? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below.  Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

P.S: If you want to see what happened in the other 2 rounds, the team round and the apocalypse round, be sure to tell me in the comments section below! Also, comments are deeply appreciated.

Slice Of Life #79 - Currently - Friday, March 2, 2018

I finally get to slice every single day! That was what I wrote for the 2nd reason why I WILL and TOTALLY and MUST "slice" (look at yesterday's slice linked here). Yes, I am obviously continuing my Slicing streak! I WILL AND TOTALLY AND MUST 'slice'. Why? That's just my life.

Currently...

I am writing my Slice Of Life at school (my teacher is giving us free time).
Juliet said that she would comment on today's post if I commented on hers, so I will.
Our assistant, Ms. Jag, just walked into the classroom for whoever knows why.
Girls are chatting and hanging out.
I am rolling my eyes (LOL).
Juliet just said that she is not going to the bathroom with one her friends.
"Yeah, I don't want to," she replied.
"I'm hungry, my tommy's rumbling..." she says again.
My teacher walked out of the class to hush random people (I don't care to write their names)
Juliet is calling me weird.
Juliet is calling me socially awkard (#STOPZHIHONGABUSE)
Oh, also, 1 comment = Juliet will stoop abusing me.
JULIET WANTS TO FIGHT ME! I AM TRIGGERED!
I am still triggered.
A girl does not know how to spell my name.
I am even more triggered.
Now Juliet is calling me names (I hope my teacher sees this and gets her in trouble *Just kidding*)
About to explode.
Daniel is talking to his best friend.
Sahana is suggesting that I change and delete all of this. (BTW, this will never happen - ever)
Edwin said that his mom is a bad, bad mom (I don't think so)
Juliet is asking one of her best friends to go and sit down and eat dinner -  with the fact that it is still 11:20 in the morning.
Mason is looking at my computer for whoever knows why.

Ok, peace out! I don't have anymore time. See you tomorow!

Slice Of Life #78 - Finally!!! - Thursday, 1st March, 2018

Finally!!! Slice Of Life is finally back! I managed to slice every Tuesday so far (well, I missed 1)... I'm just happy for the fact that I can finally "slice" everyday now! New month, new year, new March, new time to "slice", another time for a new, good, introduction for a new series of "slicing"! I'll like to kick it off and start the new season of slicing fresh with a...

Oh, and don't forget, look at my 31st slice, the last slice that I last did in the last season of slicing. A good way to start and end the season.
Link: https://zchan26iskl.blogspot.my/search?q=slice+of+life+%2331

31 Reasons That I WILL and TOTALLY and MUST "slice"

  1. I sliced last year, and I am totally continuing that. (As you can see, this is my 79th slice, and I have sliced every Tuesday, with the fact that I missed it once.)
  2. I finally get to slice every single day!
