Slice Of Life #35 - (25/4/2017) - Going To Taiwan - Part 2 / Day 2

    It was 3:45 in the morning and I was waking up to get ready to go down to do some "Praying". I quickly brushed my teeth, tidied my bed on the floor / "Floor bed", and quickly went down with my dad and his friend. After that, I went to go eat my "early breakfast" (It was 6:00). I didn't really feel like eating much so I just ate some bread for breakfast. (I know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day...) Then, we went to listen to a speech. We listened to the speech because it was free for all time.  After the speech, we went to help out the people working there because there was a lot of hard work to be done there. We was assigned to help out at a farm close by. We took a bicycle to a farm to cut away the wild grass around the "Yam Plants". We cut away a lot of wild grass that was surrounding the "Yam grass". We was there for about 1 hour until we stopped and went back to our dormitory to take a bath. Then I played a math game called "Prodigy" and I also tried to call my friend "Tiago" but there was no internet connection even though I bought a " 3 Day Sim Card" (I probably had no internet connection because my Sim Card Probably wasn't strong enough. Click here and here to learn more about the math game Prodigy!    After that, I went to see a drumming performance by a lot of kids. The drumming performance was to celebrate a very important person's birthday.

    After seeing that, it was time for lunch. I ate some tofu and some soup and also some other things. After lunch, it started raining and my mom and dad brought some clothes and some socks. When the rain stopped, we did a "3 Steps, 1 Bow" activity to cleanse away our bad habits to change them into good habits. After that, we listened to a speech about the "3 Steps, 1 Bow" activity.  After the activity, my dad and his friends had a meeting about how they would report to our master (his picture is above) while I played the math game "Prodigy". Believe it or not, I chatted to my friend "Tiago" and also met him in the game! We gave each other tips about the game while having fun playing "Prodigy".
    Then it was free for all time again. I went back to our dormitory to rest and charge my handphone because I had used up a ton of battery on my phone playing Prodigy. I went down with everyone else in the dormitory, including my dad to eat our dinner. After dinner, it was free for all time again and my dad went to work with someone else because he had to edit the "PPT" for the report. (Look on my next post to know more about the report!)
    At 7:00, I went down to listen to 2 monks talk. Before that, there was more monks there because I arrived early at 6:50.  When we got started, we could ask our questions to the monk and the monk would answer our questions. After that, we went up to take a bath and get a goodnight sleep.

Slice Of Life #34 (18/4/2017) - Going To Taiwan - Part 1 / Day 1

    It was 4:00 in the morning, in I was in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, getting ready to go to Taiwan. We quickly packed our bags and went to the airport. We met my parents friends at the airport. "Hello!" We greeted each other. They were surprised to see me awake at a very early time, 4:00. When more and more people started arriving, we started to check in. I didn't check in my luggage because I found it funner to pull my luggage rather that walking without one. We started to go through the X-Ray scanning and the immigration. We arrived just in time for boarding. We boarded our plane, a China Airlines plane. When I got on the plane, a flight attendant gave me a coloring book so I wouldn't get too bored, but I would be ok. I set my phone to flight mode, and started enjoying the flight. I took out the headphones that was in my seat pocket, and listened to what was playing. Then, they started to play a video clip about safety. It was time for take off. I sat normally, I liked take off, I liked seeing the plane go at high speed. Then, they started showing a movie about aliens. I listened to the movie, it was very interesting. We had breakfast on the plane. I even watched the interesting movie when I ate my breakfast! When we reached, we took a train to the Taipei Main Station to eat our lunch. After that, we took another train to Hualien. We reached at 6:30, but it was already dark. We ate our dinner and went up to our dormitory to get some nice little goodnight sleep.

1.  What happens if a rocket crashes onto earth? Do they have gigantic airbags like how they land Mars rovers?
2.  Do they have some type of alarm system to wake up the astronauts in case of emergency / when they are needed?
3.  Where do they build the rockets that they launch into space?
4.  When did the organization "NASA" start (The year, day and month)?
5.  Are there any other planets that are undiscovered?

Slice Of Life #33 (This Was Wrote On April 10th But Was Published On April 11th) - A Sick Mom

    (This happened on Sunday, April 9th 2017) I had just woke up, but it was still early. So I kept sleeping until 6:30 (That's what I think because I don't look at the clock when I woke up.). But then my stomach started to hurt. I went to poop and found out that the poop was the watery type of poop and pooping out that type of poop hurted a lot. (Sorry for the offensive stuff) After that, my mom told me that she was not feeling well. When I went to my class, my mom had to wait there because she was in charge of something in the class. But after the class, everyone was saying to me "Your mom is not feeling well, you should take of her...". I already knew that. After all, everyone could tell that she was sick / not feeling well just by looking at her pale face. When we came home from class, she slept until 3:00pm while I hangout-called my friend Tiago and we played a math game online called "Prodigy". (Click here to learn more about the math game "Prodigy"!) Me and Tiago found each other, sent friend requests to each other and accepted them, and even battled each other in the game! When she woke up she took me to eat, but when she was eating, she only ate a little bit and did not eat a big part of her breakfast / lunch / brunch (Even though it was 3:00pm). She had no appetite for food. After that, when we reached home, she ask me to take a thermometer for her to check if she was having a fever or not. When we checked, it was 37.___ (I forgot her temperature. Sorry...), she was having a fever! She did not feel like cooking and that was why we had to go to my aunty's house to eat.

Today, she is not sick anymore and is more energetic than yesterday. We also found out that she was sick because she didn't get enough sleep. I'm very glad that she is now not sick anymore and is now back to normal.

Slice Of Life #32 (This was wrote on April 3rd, 2017 but was published on April 4th, 2017) - Awards!!!

    It was reading time, and I was reading my book club book, "The Vanishing Coin" from the "White Rabbit" series, when suddenly, My Teacher, Ms. Victor called out "Toby, Zhi Hong, Mimi, please come here.". I was surprised to hear my name being called, I thought that there was something we had to talk about, it was not going to be a good day. But hearing "Mimi", I thought that maybe it wasn't so bad after all. After all, I did not "hang out" much with "Mimi". When we reached there, I saw 1 stack of notebooks, 1 stack of pens, a stack of memo pads, a stack of "Post - Its", a stack of pencils, and lastly a stack of  "Shape Post - Its". I breathed a sigh of relief, I was not in trouble. "Each of you can take 1 of the things in each pile because you sliced everyday." She explained. I took a purple / reddish notebook, a memo pad, a orange pen, a blue stack of "Post - Its", a yellow pencil, and lastly a"Shape Post - It" that looked like a green cloud. After that, I went back to reading my book club book, but I only read 4 pages due to the lack of time I got from the "Award Picking".
