Currently, I am sitting in a lecture that is incredibly boring mainly because I don't understand a thing the lecturer is saying.
Other than that, in my opinion, one of the two speakers that are currently talking don't speak very good English and it is hard to understand his accent.
Tonight, we have a buffet dinner waiting for us. I am looking forward to that, and can't wait for this lecture to be over - because this is the last lecture before the early dinner.
In the previous lecture, I managed to finish a really good book. I can hear some drumming coming from outside, and I know that it's from the drums for the lion dance later (we're celebrating the organization that made this conference's 30th anniversary) because I went out to eat some food and saw.
Around me are mostly healthcare professionals, and they look interested, but I am sitting here just wondering what the heck is going on.
I'm going to go play the Google dinosaur game now because I'm bored.
Okay! I'm back! I didn't do very well this time, but still managed to get a high score of 655.
When is this lecture going to be over? I am now wondering. I am really bored. I've already read a few pages of another books.
Okay. I think that I'm going to end this post here and go outside and relieve myself from this boredom and eat a cookie.

Slice of Life #181 - Conference - Friday, March 29th, 2019
I am really disappointed right now. I already wrote a post that I couldn't save because I didn't have any internet connection. Unfortunately, because the post didn't save, I now have to rewrite the whole post.
Anyway, today, I went to a conference with my parents. Some of the topics were pretty interesting, while some topics were pretty boring because the speakers didn't really have much experience.
When the topics were boring what I ended up doing was dozing off in my chair. Sometimes, the topics were so boring I would look over to the people around me and they would either be listening (not likely), looking at their phones, or in a deep sleep.
In one lecture, *no offense*, the speaker spoke terrible English and pretty much no one understood what she was trying to say.
Her subject was something about healthy eating and how that had to do with climate change, but she then started talking about the CO2 in plants (I suppose that has a little to do with climate change).
Now, I'm going to be going to sleep because I am pretty sleepy.
Bye! See you tomorrow!

Slice Of Life #180 - Universal Studios! - Thursday, March 28th, 2019
The past few hours have truly been amazing. In the past few hours, I've taken a photo with a T-Rex, been on set, watched groups of people go to war on a floating island and water, watched animals chase animal trainers, watched a man burn, and been inside an Egyptian tomb.
In the past few hours, I've been in Universal Studios in LA, and I've had a great time. Although the T-Rex that I took a picture with was just a fake, it looked and acted surprisingly real. It roared, fiercely, and if you looked at him, it looked like he wanted to eat you. Boy, was I scared when I took the picture with her.
And although I wasn't on set, I got to go behind the scenes in Hollywood and look at the places that various movies were filmed. We also managed to watch some recording in progress.
Other than that, there were really cool short 4D movies that we got to see. There were things in the trailer that shot out water at us when required. The missiles looked really real, and I even ducked when I saw one coming towards me.
I also went on a really scary roller coaster called the mummy. My mom was screaming like mad. The roller coaster dropped and turned extremely quickly, and there were sudden drops. The roller coaster then went backwards really quickly, and by the time I came out of the roller coaster, I was panting.
There was also a really cool show called Waterworld, and there were actors from real movies performing. The actors were highly trained, and occasionally would splash water to the people sitting in the splash zone, which was literally a zone that people sat in if they wanted to get wet.
In the special effects show, we watched some special effects that the cast used to make movies. There was one part where we watched a man on fire, and he stayed on fire for about 18 seconds *PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME*.
Okay, I'm gonna be eating dinner now. Tomorrow I'm going to be going to a conference with my parents!

Slice Of Life #179 - Shopping! - Wednesday, March 28th, 2019
I'm now at my hotel, back from dinner - although a late dinner.
My parents are now chatting with some of their friends, and I am sitting here on a chair in the reception writing this slice.
Today, I went shopping in an outlet in a place called Palm Springs. I bought 3 shoes, including 1 red Nike shoe that I am currently wearing and that I think looks pretty good.
I also bought 2 Sketchers shoes, one of them which is slightly larger than my current shoe size so I can wear it in the future. I also bought some green waterproof shoes.
All the Sketchers shoes that I bought have gel-infused memory foam because I really like them because they are really comfortable.
My mom bought a few things for her, but my dad didn't buy anything.
Now, I am a little worried because I want to be able to wake up early tomorrow morning because I am going to be going to Universal Studios.
Tomorrow, we are also be getting some things that we ordered. We sent it to my parents's friends's homes, and my parents's friends are coming tomorrow.
I am going to get my luggage tomorrow, so I'm going to be looking forward to it.
I'm gonna go sleep now! Bye!

Slice Of Life #178 - Disneyland! - Tuesday, March 26th, 2019
Whew! I've just came back from Disneyland here in the US, and I am really exhausted.
Disneyland was really fun despite he fact that the lines for each activity were really long.
The first activity that I took was a Star Wars one. This activity was a short 4D movie, but we had to wait for 50 minutes before we finally got to watch the movie.
The movie was really cool. The quality of the movie was really good and the people in the movie looked really cool.
Other than that, you also felt like you was actually moving because the chairs were also moving (which is what makes it 4D).
Inside the building where we waited and stood in the queue, there were also robots that could move and also talk to entertain us.
After the Star Wars activity, I decided to give to an activity that was called 'Astro Blasters'. In Astro Orbiters, we had to wait 45 minutes in the line until we actually got to play it.
Once again, the game was really cool. We sat in a car that moved with a gin and tried to shoot targets on the walls. Targets that were lit up have you more points, but as long as we hit the target we earned points. At the end, I managed to get 4,400 points. My mom got 13,000 points, and somehow my dad managed to get 39,000 points.
After that, we went to an activity where we got to drive cars (that aren't as large as normal cars). I kept crashing into the objects when we had to turn left and the right the next second because I didn't turn 5he steering wheel enough and instead turned it back to the middle instead of the right or left.
There were lots of "lands" in Disney land. In my opinion, Tomorrowland, which was the land that1 we started out in (all the previous activities were there - the Astro Blasters, Star Wars).
After a while, we went to Fantasyland. I didn't find Fantasyland as entertaining, but I went on a roller coaster which was short but extremely fun.
Next, I went into Mickey's Toontown, which is another land. I found a door that was pretty cool because (I think it had a wire attached to it), the door should fill with color and produce a few sounds. The door was supposed to be an entrance to a power plant (although fake), so I think that it was supposed to be electricity crackling, out of control. We walked through Mickey's Toontown, exited it, and went to Frontierland.
In Frontierland, I played the Fronteirland Shootin' Exposition, where we had a rifle (a fake but a little heavy one) and had to shoot targets.
After going to Frontierland, I went to Adventureland, which was next to Frontierland. In Adventureland, I went on the Jungle Cruise, where we got on a boat and sailed around a course that was set up for us. The course was really cool as it had lots of animals in it to represent the wildlife in different places. Other than that, the animals looked surprisingly real and the "boat driver" did a good job narrating. She even had a starter pistol that she fired, which I found cool.
After that, we walked out of Adventureland, passed New Orleans Square, and went to Critter Country. In Critter Country, we went to an activity called "The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" just for the fun if it. Fortunately, the line wasn't very long as the ride was short and there were lots of "carts" to carry us around.
In Critter Country, we stopped by the restaurant to get a Vegan Burger and some Onion Rings to eat.
After that, we slowly walked to the exit. We stopped by a shop to buy some clothes for me before exiting the park.
In my opinion, this adventure was a really fun one. I got to have lots of fun, which is what's most important. Other than that, my jetlag's getting better, so that's good. It's going to be a great time in the US!

Slice of Life #177 - Jetlag... - Monday, March 25th, 2019
My first full day in the US has passed quickly, and I am suffering from jetlag.
Yesterday, I set an alarm so I would be able to wake up at 7:00am, but I ended up walking up at 4 and reading instead because I couldn't sleep.
Woah! I just lost my tooth! Excuse me for a second...
Now, my mouth feels really weird because I am not used to not having that tooth in my mouth.
Today, I went to the science center. I was really tired because of jetlag, but I still managed to have fun there. I really liked the simulators because they were really cool.
There was a hurricane simulator, and me and my family decided to go in it. What ended up happening was my dad's spectacles blowing off his head and landing outside the simulator. Fortunately, my dad's spectacles were okay.
Tomorrow, I will be going to Disney Land. I hope that I won't be having jetlag tomorrow!

Slice Of Life #176 - In A Hotel - Sunday, March 24th 2019
Currently, I am sitting in a chair a few meters away from the TV watching a cooking competition while eating a Subway sandwich.
Me and my family are now currently in the US. My dad has a conference here, so me and my mom are going to follow him.
The conference doesn't start until the 28th, so we are going to spend the first 4 days having fun here, in Los Angeles.
Ugh! Another ad! My dad is now turning down the heater because it is starting to get hotter now.
Now, I am setting an alarm for tomorrow. I have to work out the math for the timing now because my watch is still set to Malaysia's time zone. The time in LA is 15 hours different from the time in Malaysia, so I have to set the alarm to 10pm in order for it to be 7am in LA. In LA, the time is now 10:47 at night.
Okay, singing off for now! Bye!

Slice Of Life #175 - Holiday! - Sunday, March 24th, 2019
Currently, I am in Hong-Kong waiting for a meal. I am now in the airport waiting for my flight to LA in US.
I managed to 'cheat the wifi system here' by putting in a fake email address instead of a real one.
In my opinion, the food here is extremely expensive, as you can get the same thing in Malaysia for less than half the price.
We have ordered some pizza and pasta, and are now waiting for it to be served. The average serving time here is about 30 minutes because almost the whole restuarant is filled with people. And trust me, the restaurant is pretty big.
I may not be able to slice tomorrow, because I am going to be very busy.
My mom has just came back with the news that our gate has been changed to gate 34 instead of 24.
Now, please excuse me as my food has came to the table.
Boy, it looks like good stuff!
Signing off for now! Bye!

Slice Of Life #174 - Nothing To Do... - Saturday, March 3rd, 2019
I am really bored right now. Tomorrow, I'm going to be going to the US on holiday, but I don't have anything to do now.
I am now currently loading YouTube and looking for any cool videos.
Found one! Somehow, the 'Incredible Science Machine' has managed to create a really cool dominoes project. The project consisted of 245,732 dominoes, breaking a new record. They also managed to break the US domino structure record (the amount of dominoes used to build a structure), consisting of 12,780 dominoes. They also broke another record, which was the US domino field record (absolutely no idea what that is), but they broke the record and the record is now 12,450 dominoes (link to the video here - behind the scenes here).
I am really amazed by this. Somehow, the 19 builders of this massive project took only 7 days to complete this project - but they still spent over 1,200 combined hours to complete the project. Other than that, I wonder how many times they probably messed up and knocked all the dominoes down on accident - what if they didn't mess up (that'd just be amazing...)?
I also wonder how much money it probably took to complete this project because it probably cost a lot of money to buy the dominoes for the project.
Now, I am listening to music blare out of the speakers.
I don't have much time left, because I have to go out and eat dinner soon.
Wait.
Got to go now!

Slice Of Life #173 - No Subject - Friday, March 22nd, 2019
I have a problem. I have nothing to write about.
I guess I'll just write about what happened today.
Today, at school, we had a fantasy writing share, where we would share what we managed to write for our fantasy writing unit with others.
Me and my friend, Tiago, managed to finish our choose your own adventure story (you can read it here - FYI: It's not perfect, but you can at least understand the story - it needs a few brush ups - not all the links are linked correctly, so please be patient...)
When we shared it with other people, the people really liked the story, but they kept dying because:

When we shared it with other people, the people really liked the story, but they kept dying because:
- Our story is really long.
- Our story is extremely hard to "beat".
- We have about 34 endings, and all of them result in death except for 2.
In my opinion, it was really fun watching my friends try and fail again and again. In the end, I ended up sending them the link to the story so that they could try and "win" at home.
Unfortunately, fun things come to an end, and we still had to go back to class - although we got to go home after that...

Slice Of Life #172 - Currently... - Thursday, March 21st, 2019
Currently...
- I am checking the March Book Madness results to see the winners of this round.
- Just like I thought. A Night Divided, The Lightning Thief, Out of My Mind, and Restart - all the past year winners - made it to the semi-finals.
- Now, I am logging onto Google drive to work on my choose your own adventure story to get it done by tomorrow because we are having a fantasy share and I'm going to be sharing that book.
- I'm working on my choose your own adventure story with Tiago, but I don't think that Tiago's on now.
- I just remembered that I'm on for morning announcements tomorrow.
- I don't think that it's going to matter too much if we don't finish our story because we have a lot of different paths. We also have about 25 endings, so far all of them involve you dying except for one.
- Me and Tiago are writing a choose your own adventure story about D-Day. Our story is the longest story with 52 pages so far.
- I am doing some editing now.
- I am going to be wrapping this post up soon because it is pretty late now.
- Me = sleepy.
- Activating sleep mode.
- Bye...
- See...
- You...
- Tomorrow...
- In...
- Another...
- Slice!
- I have finished writing another page.

Slice Of Life #171 - Post-Assessment (Part 2) - Wednesday, March 20th, 2019
"We're doing the 2nd part of the writing post-assessment now." Mr. Herbert, my teacher, told me as I walked into the classroom.
I walked over to the computer cart to get my computer. Flipping my computer open, I looked at my friend, Leo, who was already opening up his essay in Google Drive.
After the document (of my essay) opened up, I reread my piece of writing over again first so I wouldn't have to spend too much time checking my work after I was done.
After reading my piece of writing and correcting my work along the way, I decided to continue and branch off what I had already written yesterday.
Yesterday, I left off when dinosaurs were parachuting from the sky when Bob and Bobby, my 2 main characters, were walking to school.
I decided to make the dinosaurs hostile so there would be a problem in the story. Everything here happens because of a very beautiful streak of light (the dinosaurs parachute from the middle of the beautiful streak of light).
In my story, one of the dinosaurs takes Bobby away, and Bob has to try and save Bob - which he does in the end.
Looking up at the clock, I saw that I only had 15 minutes left to complete my essay for this assessment. I made sure that my ending was extra powerful, because endings can sometimes be the "magic of the story" and make people think that the story is amazing.
I looked up at the clock again. I didn't have much time left - I had only 6 minutes.
I got up from my seat and went to sit in front of the "board" - I don't know what to call it, because there was a projector projecting things onto the "board".
On the "board", Mr. Herbert had put up the rubric that he and the other teachers were going to use to assess us in our fantasy writing.
I quickly reread my story and made a few minor changes in the places that I felt like I needed to.
"Your time is up." Mr. Herbert said just after I was done editing. I was sure that I was going to be doing good this time.

Slice Of Life #170 - Post-Assessment - Tuesday, March 19th, 2019
"Your time starts now. Good luck." I heard my teacher say from the front of the room. I flipped open my laptop and opened Google Drive. Wifi, work! I thought.
As soon as Google Drive opened up, I opened up a new document. Fantasy writing post-assessment, I titled it. Right after that, I began frantically typing at the keyboard. Words materialized on the computer screen, and I quickly read them over so I wouldn't have to spend too much time editing my work the next day.
I was currently doing a fantasy writing post assessment, and this was the first 45 minute period that we got for the assessment. We were going to be doing the second period tomorrow, and after the second period, we were to turn in our essay.
I didn't really know what to write about, but after a while, I came up with an idea. In what I've got so far, my main character, Bob, wakes up to see a beautiful streak of light in the sky casting unbelievable amounts of light into everyone's houses.
I decided to make Bob an underdog - a person who people look down at - mainly because I believe that it's going to get me better grades, but also because our teacher told us that incorporating an underdog in the story is also a pretty good element to add into fantasy stories.
Currently, the story's starting to reach it's climax, because dinosaurs start parachuting out of the beautiful streak of light.

Slice Of Life #169 - Currently
Currently...
- I am sitting down on the sofa, reading.
- I am now looking at the pile of books that I bought yesterday.
- I am now walking over to the pile of books that I bought yesterday.
- Rip! I am ripping open the plastic outside the books so I can finally read them.
- Yesterday, I bought 12 books - with some of them in Chinese.
- I am now walking over to the toilet to brush my teeth - *Brush, brush!*
- I'm back. Now, I smell the disgusting smell of smoke from cigarettes wafting into my house, so I am going to close the door so the smoke doesn't come in.
- The phone is shouting: Ring! Ring! Ring!
- I am going to change into new clothes (instead of wearing my pajamas).
- I'm going to read some books now! Adios!
P.S.: Sorry, I forgot to slice yesterday!

Slice Of Life #168 - Piano Exam - Saturday, March 16th, 2019
I shivered as I entered the examination room. I found my seat and sat down. Putting my pencil case down, I looked to my side as students quickly shuffled into the room and found their seats.
I saw some of my friends come in and sit in front of me in their designated seats. After a while, I heard some sound coming out of the loudspeakers.
There was a lady standing in the middle of the massive room, and she was talking to us about the rules and regulations of the exams, all of which I already knew. There was only one thing that I didn't know, which was the fact that you wasn't allowed to use draft papers of your own, because it would result in disqualification from the exam - not that I was going to be using any in the first place.
When the invigilators were passing out the test papers, I realized that my ID number was written incorrectly. I quickly raised my hand.
Unfortunately, none of the invigilators saw me, so I instead waited until the invigilator came to my table to pass out my test papers to tell them.
When the invigilator found out that my ID number was written wrong, she went to ask the person-in-charge of the ID's, and she said to just correct the ID number, so I did.
When the papers were passed out, I realized how easy they were compared to the other papers that I had done (the pass year papers). I carefully completed the first page with a worried feeling in my stomach.
After completing the exam, I checked my answers very carefully - by that, I mean 10 minutes per question. I didn't go up until the time was up.
Finally, I heard the voice again. "Grade 1, 2, and 3 candidates, your time is up. Please leave your exam papers on the table and leave the hall."
I opened my pencil case and put my stationaries back into it.
The test was over.

Slice Of Life #167 - UGH, TRAFFIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Friday, March 15th, 2019
Traffic can sometimes be very, seriously, extremely, mind-blowingly, triggeringly, exceedingly, exceptionally, extra, tremendously, immensely, vastly, hugely, intensely, extraordinarily, outstandingly, particularly,
supremely, highly, really, annoying and nerveracking.
Currently, I'm stuck in serious traffic because a crane fell off it's trailer and totally blocked the whole road. And, to make it worse, it's a total standstill. We're literally moving about 5 meters in 5 minutes. According to Waze, a traffic/directions map, it's going to be 7pm until I finally reach home. We've been stuck in this traffic for 45 minutes already and have only managed to move about 800 meters, which I can cover In approximately 3 minutes and 9 seconds.
Looking out my window, I can see a motorcyclist, clearly frustrated because our car is blocking his way (we're trying to cut into the other lane). Fortunately, he's being patient and waiting until the traffic starts moving again.
Now, another motorcyclist is telling the other motorcyclist to reverse and cut into the next lane, so the motorcyclist is finally gone.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The tow truck is coming! The satisfying sound of hearing sirens of the police escorting the tow truck with motorbikes!
Somehow, the police have managed to clear the traffic and the tow truck is quickly moving towards the collapse crane.
Let's just hope that the traffic going to clear soon!

Slice Of Life #166 - 4JK Lunch - Tuesday, March 14th, 2019
I climbed the steps quickly, taking them two by two. I was really tired after the game of football (which we lost 1-0), but I still persisted. I told myself that it was "exercise", although I already got enough exercise anyways.
Once I reached the top of the stairs, I quickly turned the corner. "4JK lunch!" Leo shouted to me as I turned the corner.
"Did you seriously think that I was going to forget it?"
Just before we played football, when me, Nico, and Tobiah were moving the goals (they weren't in line), we were talking about the lunch.
"4JK (although I said it 4-je-ke) lunch today!" I said as I pulled the goal towards me.
"Oh, yeah!" Nico and Tobiah said at the same time as they started to walk away from the goal.
I walked quickly, taking small but fast strides towards the Grade 4 common area. I realized that there was also a door in the middle of the Grade 4 common area, just like we had in ours, so I entered through that door, knowing that Ms. Kerr, my amazing 4th Grade teacher, was probably in her room waiting for us, which was in the far corner.
As soon as I opened the doors to the Grade 4 common area, I felt the cold gust of air and immediately regretted not coming in through the main entrance.
"Hi, Ms. Kerr!" I exclaimed as I went into the room and set my lunch bag down at a table. More kids started to stream in after me, and we started to sit at different tables and started to talk.
I don't know why, but for some reason Nico forgot about the lunch - although we were talking about it just before playing some football. Because Nico forgot that it was 4JK lunch, we ended up having to go to the cafeteria and remind him.
Ah, the old days... We chatted for a really long time about the old days, back when we were in 4th Grade. We chatted about how Edwin and Aurora used to have what we called a "leg war" because they used to sit opposite each other and kept arguing about the space that they would get for their legs. What they ended up doing what constantly trying to shove each other's legs out of the way, which ended up being pretty entertaining for the rest of the class.
Other than that, we also talked about our old book clubs, where in each book club discussion we would be singing songs to tease the characters in our story (who knows why) because we thought that they liked each other. Our book club book was also boring, so eventually Aurora incorporated what we called a "comic of the day", where she would draw a comic - with people who were stick-men - and me and Leo would read it.
But, all fun things come to an end, and eventually, 4JK lunch ended, and we had to go back to class. Why? 4JK lunch is much funner! But we still ended up going back to class...

Slice Of Life #165 - Course Selection - Wednesday, March 13th, 2019
As Grade 6 gets closer and closer for me, there are some things that I need to do in order to get prepared for it.
One of the things that I need to do is course selection. In our school, for Grade 6, we are required to choose a few courses that we want to take.
There are a few required subjects, which include math, science, humanities (reading, writing, and social studies - there is more than 1 subject to cover in humanities class, so it covers 2 parts of our day), P.E. (physical education), and world language. These are the core subjects that we are required to take. They all cover 6 parts of our day - six 45 mins classes (we don't have all the core classes every day). For world language, I think that I'll take Spanish, as I've studied Spanish for 6 years already, and I don't want to give it up. I'll probably be taking Chinese after school.
But the core subjects aren't the only subjects that we take. We also have "wheel" subjects, which rotate every trimester. Health and Drama are required, but we get to choose from art or service learning. I think that I'm going to choose service learning, because in service learning, we get to work on a project that contributes to the community and put it to action. Each "wheel" subject lasts 1 trimester (basically semester, but there are 3 semesters - trimesters).
Other than that, we are required to do music. I want to continue playing the clarinet instead of learning a new instrument, so I think that I'm going to do junior band (after beginning band - I think advanced band is for 8th graders). I can also choose choir or strings, but I don't really want to do those activities.
We're going to be getting our schedules for Grade 6 near the end of May. I wonder how my schedule's going to be like, but I do hope that it's not to hard to memorize! I'm looking forward to starting Grade 6!

Slice Of Life #164 - At School - Tuesday, March 12th, 2019
Currently, I am at school writing this slice. Today, Linnea and James are doing announcements. Instead of listening to them, I am typing this slice *don't get mad*.
45 mins later...
I am now outside my Spanish class and waiting for my teacher to come back from the toilet and start the class.
Toby, my friend, is sitting next to me playing Nitro Type and is currently losing. The Chinese class next to me has started already, but my class has not started yet. And, Toby is now raging because he is doing horrible in the game.
Now, I am watching Tiago and Adam walk towards me. Tiago said that he would be doing Slice of Life once a week for the rest of the year. I don't know if he's going to keep to his word, but maybe he will.
Wait... I have to go to class now.
After School...
School is now over, and I am now sitting in the car.
During recess today, in my opinion, the teams were pretty unfair, but somehow we beat them 3-2. At first, we were losing 0-2, but then we scored 3 times in a row and won.
If the teachers didn't forget to call us to go and eat lunch when our recess ended (They called us late), we would have lost 0-2.
I could have scored a goal, but unfortunately didn't manage to score.
Roan was standing in front of me, trying to defend the ball. I had had the ball at the time, and tapped the ball to the right using the side of my foot and kicked it tiwards the goal. The ball was on target, but it was going sttaight for Tiago, so all Tiago had to do was to bend down and pick the ball up.
I'm happy that doing Slice of Life is also now part of my homework, so by doing this I have already done part of my homework.
Gotta complete my homework now!

Slice Of Life #163 - Middle School *Coming Soon* - Monday, March 11th, 2019
Currently, I am at my school in the Robert B. Gaw Theater for a "transitioning to middle school talk". Apparently this talk is supposed to be about middle school and how it's going to be like.
I'm pretty sure that this talk is going to be about the activities that we get in middle school.
I don't really know what they're going to talk about here in this transition talk.
Now, I'm going to stop writing this blog and instead listen to the talk.
Bye!

Slice Of Life #162 - Birthday Party - Sunday, March 10th, 2019 - Happened on Saturday, March 9th, 2019
![]() |
| Credits/Link: https://goo.gl/images/cUoUD4 |
My friend Leo handed Tiago his present. "Here's your present!"
"Thanks," Tiago replied.
"Here's your present!" I told Tiago.
"Thanks a lot," He replied again. "You can put it in this bag. We'll use it as an 'birthday bag'."
"Sure!"
We watched as Tiago's mom walked to the counter to buy tickets. I was at Superpark to celebrate my friend, Tiago's, birthday.
We were first going to play here at Superpark, and then go to Tiago's house to play some more and eat some cake.
I started to climb and duck under a handrail - which had a few 'layers' (*please do not try this*) as we waited for Tiago's mom to buy the tickets. Me and Leo started to chat a little with Tiago and his dad while waiting for the tickets and for the others to come.
"Hey, Adam!" I exclaimed as I saw him emerge from top of the escalator.
Adam walked quickly to the doors of Superpark, a smile on his face. "Hey!"
He handed Tiago his present as Tiago's mom came back. "Okay, you all have to put on these socks - well, you're supposed to anyway - before you go into Superpark. Next, you have to put on this wristband, which is basically your 'ticket' in and out of Superpark. You can keep you belongings in the lockers over there by scanning your wristband at the scanner - you don't have to pay any money."
We took off our shoes and put on the 'Superpark socks' and put on the wristband. I had already been here before, so I knew how to get a locker. What ended up happening was me and my friends having our lockers in the same row. I was happy I wasn't standing right in front of the locker drinking water, because then I would have got smacked in the face instead (by the locker door - Adam's locker was below me).
As soon as we entered, we decided to just run up and down this "hill" for no apparent reason. Next, Leo found this reaction game, so everyone started to play it too (I didn't play, but instead went to this place where you had to shoot hoops and the more hoops you made the more points you got).
Next, we all went to his place - where it was basically the same as the basketball one, except for the fact that it was Football this time.
One of the ways you could earn points was to shoot your ball really high, and if you hit the ceiling, you earned 500 points (it's really hard). I almost made it once, but my ball didn't go high enough (it was 1 meter from the ceiling). Eventually, we decided to cheat and just keep touching the targets to earn more and more points(it's not very ethical to do this, so don't do it... - we only did this because we wanted to play and have some fun)
After that, we went to the robotic goalkeeper, where the goalkeeper was robotic and we had to try and score in the goal. We decided to add a twist to it, so you had to turn around a few times (about 10) before you shot (if you wanted to).
I managed to score in the top corner (without turning). After that, I decided to go on the tube slide, which was basically a long pathway that you slid down on on a "donut". I liked the guy that was managing the top of the tube slide this time, because when I asked him for a hard push, he literally propelled me so I went flying off the ground with the "donut". Instead of going down, I went straight for about 2 seconds before gravity was able to pull me down.
After a few hours of playing at Superpark, we went to Tiago's house to eat some cake. "In this house, we don't eat cake, but instead eat carrots, celery, and cucumber." Tiago's mom joked while opening the door to their house.
While Tiago's mom were preparing the cake, we all went to play Fifa 19 (I think) on Tiago's PS4 (I think).
Tiago's mom then came in and asked us to sing happy birthday, so then we sang it right away in the room. Tiago's mom wanted us to go out, but everyone wasn't eager to, so then Tiago's mom said: "Come out now or I pull this switch." And she was pointing straight at the switch to the PS4.
"No, please!" Tiago pleaded as he rushed out of the room and everyone followed him. Tiago's mom smiled. I knew that she wasn't going to pull the switch (she wasn't that type of person - I knew because she was once my Spanish teacher).
After we ate some cake (and I ate some popcorn), me, Leo, and Adam all went to Leo's house, ready for the next event that was going to happen - we were going to play and have dinner together (including our parents).
"Thanks for having us!" We said to Tiago and his family.
"Anytime!" They smiled as we walked out the door.'
P.S.: Sorry, I couldn't slice yesterday - I didn't have time! By the time I came home from Leo's house, it was already 11:30pm.

Slice Of Life #161 - My Dad's Birthday - Friday, March 8th, 2019
Today is my dad's birthday. To celebrate it with him, yesterday I made a birthday card for him on the computer and also wrote a message.
I don't really know how we're going to celebrate it with him, but my mom said that we're going to have a party for him later at 1:00pm.
Unfortunately, even though it's my dad's birthday, I still have to go to my usual classes.
On the other hand, today is one of the days for our student-led-conferences (I did mine yesterday), so I don't have to go to school (which is how I can write my slice today so early).
Yesterday, after student-led-conferences, I wanted to go to the book sale in my school (it was there for a limited time), but I forgot, so I didn't get to go check it out (although I think they were packing up anyways because my time slot was the latest and there were barely any people in that time slot.
Today, I look forward to:

Now, I have to go take a bath, because apparently I have to do that before I can go to the party.

Slice of Life #160 - Life As It Is - Thursday, March 7th, 2019
Today, I have Student-Led-Conferences. Tomorrow is my dad's birthday, and I look forward to celebrating it with him and my family.
I have already prepared a birthday card for him - which I prepare on the computer (really, it's a really long birthday message). In it, I thanked him for just simply being a good father - 'cause he is just amazing - no other word to define him.
Just now, I finished the book Out of My Mind, and am going to bring it to school to return it today.
Other than that, I think that I may move all my slices to my new blog that I created with my private account just in case they delete my school blog after I move on to middle school, as I don't think we will use our school blog as much in middle school.
The only think that I am still thinking about is how hard it's going to be. This is my 160th slice, so just try to imagine me moving 160 slices to another blog and having to set the time to the correct time and adding labels and having to make sure that the link's the same and having to make sure that I copied the right post and having to make sure that it doesn't have any background color when it's not supposed to (and if it does have background color, I'm going to have to deal with the coding) and having to make sure the title's the same and a whole lot more things - a lot of work goes into making one slice.
But now, after thinking about it, I think that I am probably going to shift all my slices to my blog in my private account (don't worry, I still will post all my slices in this blog).
This will end up in more work for me, but in the following weeks, I will be moving all my slices to my new blog. Even though I am moving my slices to my new blog, there will still be new slices on this blog.
I will be posting all my slices on this blog and the other blog, so you won't have to worry - the slices are not going to be deleted, and I will be posting the same slices every day/week on both blogs.
Other than that, I am also going to be practicing my writing and using my new blog to share it with others - stay updated for the link for my new blog - I don't want to tell you too much about it yet - it's not quite complete.
I'm going

Slice Of Life #159 - Tired - Wednesday 6th, 2019
Currently, I am very tired. Today, during my piano lessons, I learned that I had got 100% in my piano theory trial exam, and for that I am happy.
I have just slept for about 20 minutes before I took a bath, and am now writing this slice.
Other than that, I am also wondering if I should move my Slice of Life's to the blog in my private account, because I am scared that the school will delete this blog after I move on to middle school.
I just remembered that March 8th is my dad's birthday, and I have yet to write a card for him, which is what I'm worried about, because I want to write a card for him.
I guess I should do it now, because it won't do me any harm.
Tomorrow, I have student-led-conferences, where students lead the conferences this time and share their learning themselves. One of the things that I'm really excited to share in my conference is my choose your own adventure story, which is about D-Day and you get to choose what you want to do in D-Day. Me and my friend, Tiago started this story a few weeks ago (on Google Slides), and now have 32 pages (most of them are complete with words all over them). Unfortunately, we are not done yet, and most of the endings result in dying (can't make the story too complicated, although it is already complicated).
In these Slices, because I am going to write everyday, I am going to write shorter slices about life and what is going on.
I'm going to sign off for now, because I don't have anything else to write about and because it already is really late.
Goodbye!

In these Slices, because I am going to write everyday, I am going to write shorter slices about life and what is going on.
I'm going to sign off for now, because I don't have anything else to write about and because it already is really late.
Goodbye!

Slice Of Life #158 - Currently... - Tuesday, March 5th, 2019
- Music is shouting into my ears.
- Man, the music is amazing.
- There currently is a girl performing, and she's making music with her hands and one cup. This really surprises me.
- Now, there's a trio performing, and everyone performing are fighting against each other. I don't know who will win, because everyone's awesome at singing.
- I just remembered that I still have some homework to complete.
- Today, I was on morning announcements. We had a really long script to read from, and I think that we did pretty well, although I did make one funny mistake towards the end of the announcements. Instead of Tuesday, I said Friday.
- Avae, who was doing the morning announcements with me, said experiments instead of experience, which was also pretty funny (no offense - she also thought that it was funny)
- I am currently using Freerice to help me practice my vocabulary skills and at the same time help people who can’t afford rice to be able to get rice to eat.
- My Slices of Life will now be shorter because I am going to slice in March and April this year.
- Goodbye! It's time for me to sleep!

Slice Of Life #157 - I Forgot to Slice = The Perfect Definition of Disappointment
I looked over to the board as I placed a few pieces of paper into my folder.
On the board was the weekly home learning (which basically meant homework). We had one week to complete a few activities (we had to choose 2 out of 3 choices to do). My teacher came around and passed out the weekly math review sheet for us to do.
And then, I looked at one of the choices. In the middle of the whole page was a Slice of Life logo. And then I remembered: I forgot to slice. Usually I would try and slice everyday in March - and try and slice every Tuesday, but I realized that I had forgot to slice in the past few days.
"Oh, yeah! Slice of Life!" I exclaimed. "I forgot to do it! Disappointing..."
"Oh, yeah!" Leo, my friend said. "How many slices have you done? I've done 10."
"Uh, I've done about 150." I replied.
"Woah," He said, amazed.
I then remembered that Tiago, another friend of mine had barely done any slices, so I asked him how many slices he had done, so when I was putting some of my worksheets away I asked him.
"How many slices have you done?"
"One," He replied, smiling."
"Haha," We laughed playfully at him.
When my teacher was explaining what we had to do for home learning, there was only one thing that I could think of - I have to do Slice of Life today.
And so, here I am, sitting in front of a computer screen on a late night.
And I have school tomorrow, so I'm going to be wrapping up my slice now.
See you tomorrow in another slice - I promise I will slice!
