I climbed the steps quickly, taking them two by two. I was really tired after the game of football (which we lost 1-0), but I still persisted. I told myself that it was "exercise", although I already got enough exercise anyways.
Once I reached the top of the stairs, I quickly turned the corner. "4JK lunch!" Leo shouted to me as I turned the corner.
"Did you seriously think that I was going to forget it?"
Just before we played football, when me, Nico, and Tobiah were moving the goals (they weren't in line), we were talking about the lunch.
"4JK (although I said it 4-je-ke) lunch today!" I said as I pulled the goal towards me.
"Oh, yeah!" Nico and Tobiah said at the same time as they started to walk away from the goal.
I walked quickly, taking small but fast strides towards the Grade 4 common area. I realized that there was also a door in the middle of the Grade 4 common area, just like we had in ours, so I entered through that door, knowing that Ms. Kerr, my amazing 4th Grade teacher, was probably in her room waiting for us, which was in the far corner.
As soon as I opened the doors to the Grade 4 common area, I felt the cold gust of air and immediately regretted not coming in through the main entrance.
"Hi, Ms. Kerr!" I exclaimed as I went into the room and set my lunch bag down at a table. More kids started to stream in after me, and we started to sit at different tables and started to talk.
I don't know why, but for some reason Nico forgot about the lunch - although we were talking about it just before playing some football. Because Nico forgot that it was 4JK lunch, we ended up having to go to the cafeteria and remind him.
Ah, the old days... We chatted for a really long time about the old days, back when we were in 4th Grade. We chatted about how Edwin and Aurora used to have what we called a "leg war" because they used to sit opposite each other and kept arguing about the space that they would get for their legs. What they ended up doing what constantly trying to shove each other's legs out of the way, which ended up being pretty entertaining for the rest of the class.
Other than that, we also talked about our old book clubs, where in each book club discussion we would be singing songs to tease the characters in our story (who knows why) because we thought that they liked each other. Our book club book was also boring, so eventually Aurora incorporated what we called a "comic of the day", where she would draw a comic - with people who were stick-men - and me and Leo would read it.
But, all fun things come to an end, and eventually, 4JK lunch ended, and we had to go back to class. Why? 4JK lunch is much funner! But we still ended up going back to class...

Slice Of Life #112 - Map Testing + Map Testing AGAIN Tomorrow!!!!
Okay, so that map test was hard. I need to sleep early today. AGAIN!!! WHY? BECAUSE I AM TAKING THE MAP TEST AGAIN TOMORROW!!!
Basically, the MAP Test is not a timed test, which is one reason why I'm happy. I get to retake my reading and math test again. Why? Well, I didn't finish it in 1 hour.
I was on my 27th question when my teacher stopped me on my math test. This was probably because I spent every inch of my time thinking about how to work out really, really hard questions. I eventually found the answers for some of them, and my dad told me that I was probably correct because he said that I solved it correctly! I'm so happy!!!!
Oh, and this was the question for the question that I solved correctly. I remember the question clearly in the mind. Anyways, this was the question:
You have a box with a volume of 1500m. The width of the box is 15m, while the length of the box is 5m. What is the height of this box?
When I first got that question, I was like: Wha? (I know, I spelled 'what' wrongly, but on purpose.) After 3 mins of hard thinking, I decided to just do 15x5xX. When I reached answer B (which was 20m), I got 1500m. I then selected B because it was probably the correct answer.
On the other hand, for my reading test, my teacher stopped me on my 48th question! Why?! At the worst time!!! I was almost done with the test, because people usually answer about 50 questions before their test is over.
About the reading test, it was also. I expected the reading test to be harder than the math test, but the math test was WAY, WAY HARDER. I got really long passages in the test, which took like, 2 mins to read. Other than that, they started asking me about Latin roots, which I had learned when I was young, so I remembered a little. They also asked me for a synonym for this word that I didn't even know existed.
Basically, my replacement session is tomorrow, which means that I am going to continue my test tomorrow. Now, I have to go because I have to sleep early today.

Slice Of Life #111 - TEST TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Tuesday, 17/4/2018
"I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I'M HAVING MUSHROOM STEW!" This music is currently blurting into my ears.
It's currently 7:44pm, and we have MAP Testing tomorrow. Map stands for 'Measures of Academic Progress' (I found that on Google.) There is really nothing that I can do to prepare for the test except for having a good night sleep and a good breakfast. These are always what my teachers would always tell us before MAP Testing. The MAP test is a test on the computer. MAP Tests include math and reading. We are doing math tomorrow, and reading on Friday. The reading test, in my opinion, is harder than the math test, mainly because I get really long pieces of text to read. This test is not a timed test and you don't have a time limit to complete the test. That's one of the good things about the test.
But, bad news! You usually get questions that you don't know the answer to because they are for grades higher than you. The more questions you get correct, the harder and more questions you have. So, why do they give you questions that could be for high school? That's because they (your teachers) want to see how good you are. Who knows how good you are? You could be a 4th grader, but be as smart as a 7th grader. Oh, and that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.
So back to talking about me. I am not feeling bad about the test, because I believe that I can do pretty well. I have faith in myself. Now, I don't have anything to talk about now. Clock is ticking. 4 minutes till 8. Today, my bedtime is 9:00, which is 30 minutes earlier than normal. I think that I am going to end my post here, because I have to read some books and finish my 'not a lot' of homework. Got to get a goodnight sleep!

Slice Of Life #109 - In School - Tuesday, 3/4/2018
Currently, I am in school with free blogging time. Hey! I thought. Why not write my Slice Of Life! And so I did. But again, everyone is typing on their computers and I can't hear anything because there is music that is blaring in my ears, blocking all of my hearing. But in the first place, no one is talking in the first place.Oh, and just a sneak peek, my earbuds just cracked a little. The good news is the fact that I still can hear the music. I will try and using tape, but the tape hurt my ears, so I quit trying. I am currently asking myself WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TYPING TODAY? I am typing a lot of words wrong. But now I am finally not typing wrong words anymore.
A classmate beside me is typing a post about her vacation, but I already wrote about my vacation (not really a vacation because it was just 1 week). "Are we allowed to listen to music?" She just asked me.
"Yes," I replied, annoyed that she is distracting my post (actually, she's giving me things to write about). I just made the music softer because the music was too loud. Wow! I am currently thinking this. She's listening to Mozart songs and the whole video is an hour long (I think it's an hour long). Anyways, I still have nothing to write about.
I am now looking around the room at things that were here since the beginning of the year. Wait. I just realized why I spelled some words wrong now. My fingers shifted to the incorrect position when I was looking around the room and on the lookout for things to write about.
What is wrong with this 'Grammarly' app now? And now 'Grammarly' making me spell its name correctly. And it dosen't let me put an apostrophe on it's. Now I just changed the song to a top 15 best songs playlist and the song that is playing right now is really good. Wait. My teacher is calling me.
Apparently, she wanted to correct me and tell me that when you have a fraction you have to add it with a fraction, and not with a decimal. The same thing goes for decimals. She told me it wasn't wrong, but she wanted to tell me to make it fraction + fraction, and decimal + decimal.
Woah... Now Grammarly is correcting me again and I have put a comma after 'apparently'. I know you have to do that, but can I at least correct my own grammar?????? And it is now telling me that 'doesn't' is spelled wrong and that I have to change it to doesn't. Well, he's writing it in British English, so I don't care.
Aowww! My earbuds are stuck in my ear! How do I get this out? I am carefully pushing the earbuds to the side of my ear so it doesn't touch my ear. 'Don't mine at night! How many times do I have to say? Drop the pick and walk away. Remember last time I tried to mine at night? I failed! I died! I lost all my stuff!' The song is really good, but only when you have the music and not just the lyrics.
Yay! My friend is reading my 100th post!! He commented on it! I replied! Ok. That was boring.
Ok. Now, I have 4 more mins, so I have to publish this post now. Thanks for reading!!!

Slice Of Life #101 - Terry Fox Run - Saturday, 24/3/2018 - Happened On Friday, 23/3/2018
"3,2,1, GO!" The voice from Mr. Fisher was unbelievably loud as he gave the 4th graders the signal to take off.
Every one of the 4th graders ran out of their domain, and out to the wild. I ran slowly, getting faster with every step. It wasn't long before I was running with the 5th graders, and pushed my way through the moving border of 5th graders. 2 of my friends started to catch up to me, so I ran slower to give them a chance to catch up to me.
As they caught up to me, we all ran at the same pace, only in front of each other within 1 meter. We didn't want to be the only 4th graders running with the 5th graders. When we reached the playground, there were still some 5th graders there.
"Run faster, 4th graders are here." I heard one of them say in a sharp tone.
I ran faster, and motioned for my friends to do so also. We all ran faster, and we managed to overtake the girls that were running in front of us. We ran faster, and slowly there was a gap between us.
It wasn't long before we finished our 1st lap and caught up to some people from my class. They were just on their 1st lap, but we were already on our second lap. We overtook them not long after.
"On your right," We said as we overtook them.
My pace slowed down to a jog, then a walk for about 10 seconds. I knew that I would let others overtake me if I walked for to long, so I then regained my pace. As I ran back out into a "unshaded" area, it was really hot, and I started to sweat like crazy.
I ran 2 more laps, and I took a water break. I needed water. It felt like I was suffering from dehydration. I ran up the slope, and they announced that there was 3 more minutes left. I took off into a run. I overtook lots of people.
Right after I reached the field, they closed the exit. We only were allowed to get 1 more stamp, and the event was over. I was panting like a dog. Taking deep breaths, I progressed to the end to get the stamp, and walked over for a whole bottle of water.
The event was over.

Slice Of Life #99 - Books! - Thursday, 22/3/2018
YAY! I am happy for 2 reasons. The first reason is the fact that tomorrow is going to be my 100th slice, and also because today my Scholastic books came!
We saw the books in the classroom earlier that day. We had just came in to class and sat down at our seats.
"Scholastic books are here!" L exclaimed as soon as he saw the books. "Yes!"
Shouts of "Finally!" and "Yes" filled the air, as everyone was excited to read the Scholastic books that they had ordered. I had ordered a "Horrible Geography" pack, a "Horribles" pack, which contained of a Horrible Science and a Horrible Histories book, and also another pack.
We had to wait a hundred million years until my teacher finally gave us the books that we had ordered. There was lots of pleading and begging, but our teacher did not hesitate to be a evil teacher and keep the books for herself. It was hers until the end of the day, and it had finally come. I shoved my worksheet inside my folder, and waited for my books to be passed out. My pack was one of the biggest packs in the class (maybe it was the biggest).
Everyone ripped open their packs to check if their books were all here. I opened my pack to check if I got all my books that I ordered, and luck struck, as all my books were in the pack. I don't need to have a heart attack, I thought, because all the books that I ordered are in my pack.
We still have 5 mins of class, and I don't have anything for you to do, so you can have some free time to look in the books that you ordered. I put all the books back in my pack, and closed it (without tape or anything). I went to see what my friends ordered. My best friend, T, ordered this survival kit, and a classmate ZH, bought the same book that I bought - the Mensa "Train your Brain" book.
"School is over. You may go to you ASA (After School Activities) or line up if you are going home." My teacher said.
Everyone groaned. Free time was over. Lots of people stayed back in the class, leaving late because of the fact that they were obsessed with their new books.

Slice Of Life #84 - SLC (Student-Led Conferences) - Wednesday, 7/3/2018
Today was the very day of SLC (Student-Led Conferences). I had a stomach ache that morning (that's probably going to be my 87th post), which was a really bad start to the day. I was walking to my class, prepared to tell my parents what I had been doing in class. I got a slip of paper from my teacher, which told me where to go first, and where to go after that.
My first station was the math station. I showed them my math notebooks and also our "unit books", which were books about each unit that we had (ex: measurement, multiplication and division, equivalent fractions, etc). I was proud of my post assessment, and also how I could convert and add very well. After that, I played a math game with my parents. I completely dominated them because they didn't play with skills (as I like to say), and also because their denominators were too big.
After the math station, we had the science/reading station. I showed my parents my science notebook, and also my research notebook. I also showed them me reading a book for research, which I pre-recorded. We also did a Quizlet (Quizlet is a app to help you learn), which my parents were really good at (only when we did learn) When we did the test, my parents were really bad because they didn't know how to spell the things. Another reason is because when we did learn, they just had to guess because the words were alike to the pictures and the definitions, and also because they were able to remember what they had already selected (Quizlet link here).
The station after that was my writing station. I showed my parents my writing notebook (I think that you should have guessed that without needing me to tell you). My writing goal was to keep on writing. Writing was my favorite subject in school, and I told my parents all about it.
Our last station was to meet my teacher (This paragraph is going to be shortened a lot because there are some things that I want to keep private here). My teacher told my parents my strengths and my weaknesses, and that was about it.
Do you have SLC in your schools? What did you do today? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below. Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #79 - Currently - Friday, March 2, 2018
I finally get to slice every single day! That was what I wrote for the 2nd reason why I WILL and TOTALLY and MUST "slice" (look at yesterday's slice linked here). Yes, I am obviously continuing my Slicing streak! I WILL AND TOTALLY AND MUST 'slice'. Why? That's just my life.
Currently...
I am writing my Slice Of Life at school (my teacher is giving us free time).
Juliet said that she would comment on today's post if I commented on hers, so I will.
Our assistant, Ms. Jag, just walked into the classroom for whoever knows why.
Girls are chatting and hanging out.
I am rolling my eyes (LOL).
Juliet just said that she is not going to the bathroom with one her friends.
"Yeah, I don't want to," she replied.
"I'm hungry, my tommy's rumbling..." she says again.
My teacher walked out of the class to hush random people (I don't care to write their names)
Juliet is calling me weird.
Juliet is calling me socially awkard (#STOPZHIHONGABUSE)
Oh, also, 1 comment = Juliet will stoop abusing me.
JULIET WANTS TO FIGHT ME! I AM TRIGGERED!
I am still triggered.
A girl does not know how to spell my name.
I am even more triggered.
Now Juliet is calling me names (I hope my teacher sees this and gets her in trouble *Just kidding*)
About to explode.
Daniel is talking to his best friend.
Sahana is suggesting that I change and delete all of this. (BTW, this will never happen - ever)
Edwin said that his mom is a bad, bad mom (I don't think so)
Juliet is asking one of her best friends to go and sit down and eat dinner - with the fact that it is still 11:20 in the morning.
Mason is looking at my computer for whoever knows why.
Ok, peace out! I don't have anymore time. See you tomorow!

Journey To The Centre Of The Planet Summary
BBC: Richard Hammonds - Journey To The Centre Of The Earth
My class, 4JK, got the opportunity to watch a really interesting documentary. My whole class liked the documentary and there were also lots of things that we learned, for example, the fact that turtles navigate using the magnetic field, etc.
If I needed to rate the documentary, I would give it 5 out of 5 stars. My favorite part of the documentary was when a scientist went down to collect lava samples, and at that very moment, the volcano was erupting. He went all the way down to the edge, and at the last minute, he left. An experienced scientist also yelled for him to get out, but he didn't follow the instructions. Jumped down about 1 or 2 meters, and behind him, the lava was quickly spewing out of the volcano. This documentary is a great video to watch and I also plan to watch other videos by Richard Hammonds at home.

Slice Of Life #71 - JUMP Camp - Happened from 10/12/2018 - Wednesday - 12/12/2018 - Thursday - Tuesday 16th, January 2018 - 16/1/2018 - Written On Monday, 15/1/2018
On January 10-11 2018, Wednesday and Thursday, we, grade 4 students had a really awesome JUMP camp. We learned many new things and improved our leadership, teamwork, communication and collaboration skills. We camped overnight in the school, but it was really hard for the boys to sleep because it was so hot in the studio. The boys slept in the studio and the girls slept in the library. Like I said up there, we learned many new things. We played many games. The games that I liked the most were:
- Lava Pit
- Key Punch
- Blind Astronaut
- Annie The Artist
- Hoolium
| Ratatouille was a movie about a mouse that lived in Paris |
In these games, someone had to take up the leadership part except for Key Punch and Blind Astronaut (Blind Astronaut - not really). I was the leader for most of the games, such as: Caterpillar Walk, Hoolium, Annie The Artist, etc. I really liked the fact that I got to sleep with my friends. We had lots of time whenever we set up our sleeping bags, and I was the first to get everything organized. I got my sleeping bag, I got my pillow. I got a bunch of other things that I would need for the night/the next day. I applied my moisturizer that I needed for my allergy's and then started to play. I got out my Mensa Kids book that I was gonna figure out the tricks/not tricks out. We played American Football (no wrestling, only tagging) and also Monkey in the Middle with the Football that Mason brought (Is it called a football?). We got to watch a movie at night in our PJs (Pajamas). I ate some popcorn, which I comfirmed had no butter. I watched the movie Ratatouille. That movie was quite a old movie from 2007 and was about a mouse that lived in Paris. After the movie, I went to get my book, Auggie and Me, which I forgot to bring home the day before. Look below for a review for a review of Auggie and Me! On the first day, I didn't really get to eat much. I had to share half of my bun with my friend Nico, who had a rotten apple for... (who knows why). I got to eat all my lunch, and my best friend Toby forgot to bring food from home (he claimed that he didn't have food at home). At our small break for food, I couldn't eat anything but oranges and watermelon, but I only ate watermelon because I didn't like to eat oranges. Wake up call on the second day was at 7:00. Breakfast was at 7:00. I was the third person to wake up on the second day. I woke up about 15 minutes before it was wake up time (6:45). It was actually quite dark when I went to brush my teeth, and it looked like it was 6:00. On the second day, I liked it more because I got to take food from the teacher's area (which was way yummier and better) because I couldn't eat the breakfast they served. I also got to take the food from the canteen because I couldn't eat the lunch they served. Overall, I thought that JUMP camp was boss, the greatest, most "awesomest" camp that I have ever been in. It was a great blast.
Auggie and Me
Auggie and Me is about 3 more "Wonder" stories my R.J. Palacio. This does not continue the life of August Pullman, but it talks about others that know him or have a relationship with him. At first, this was published in 3 different books, but then the author decided to change it and make it into one whole book. I have not finished this book yet, but I can tell you that from what I am reading now, it is definitely a great blast! A must read, and it's very inspiring for me.

Deepavali/Diwali Cultural Day

At school, we had a Deepavali cultural day. On that day, we got to do many fun things. When it was time for music, we learned how to dance a Hindu dance and most of the words in the song was just "Baile". An Indian friend in our class called Raj danced, but he really didn't like it. After some time, the time for the dancing class was over and we went to learn how to cook some food. I was partners with Toby, my best friend. We had a slice of bread in front of us. I sliced it in half, and my Toby sliced them into thirds. I desperately asked again and again. "Is this vegan?" This was all because I was allergic to lots of stuff so to make it easy, I would just ask if it was vegan. We mixed the bread with a sauce, which was made with vegetables and flour, and we then gave it to the teacher. When the teacher took the fried food out. The smell of the food rushed up my nose, making the smell of food rush up everyone's nose. The result of the food was awesome, and I ate, wanting more and more each time. We ate some little crumbs and then went to recess. After recess, we went to see and try some of the food and see some of the things they do for Deepavali. Some of my friends got Henna, but I didn't because I did not prefer it. We also got to watch Indian dances in the Studio. The performance I liked the most was the drum performance. There were 2 people playing the drums, but it sounded like 10 people were playing the drums. It was a really fun and great day.

Slice Of Life #57 - A Update For The Week - Tuesday 10th, October 2017 10/10/2017
This week was quite a relaxing week. We didn't have school today and yesterday because we had student-led confrences. I didn't really chat much with my friends like last week, because I didn't have time. Recently, before I wrote this post, I was busy reading a book called House Of Robots by James Patterson, the bestselling author of Middle School and I Funny. This book is about a the life of a boy named Sammy Hayes-Rodriguez. Sammy lives in a whole house of robots. Of course, he is a normal kid, except for the fact that he lives in a house of robots. Sammy has a sister Maddie that can't go outside because she has severe combined immunodeficiency. Her body has a hard time fighting off all types of sickness, so she needs to be home schooled. Will anything happen? Read the book to find out! After I finish this post, I also plan to either finish that book or write. Well, I actually don't know what I am going to write.![]() |

Robotics Update
This week, I created a robot by myself with the theme my robot hero. I improved my robot, because before, it didn't have the ablity to clean anything. It only could walk. Now I have 2 sponges - one wet, one dry - to wet the floor, and then dry the floor. I am going to participate in the robotics competition. I also practiced controlling a drone for the competition (the drone was for beginners). The drone soon got out of control and started smashing into tables and chairs.
What did you do this weekend? What books did you read?
Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks For Reading My Blog!!! Please "Give" Me Any Comments You Have In The Comments Section Below!!! Stay Updated Some Other Good Posts!!!

In these two days, there wasn't much writing going on, but I already finished typing my opinion piece onto the computer.

In math, we are starting unit two. Because of the ISA, we didn't do much math.
Social Studies
Identity Poster
Currently, we are doing an identity poster. My after picture looked nothing like me. I just finished drawing and making lines of my flag - the Malaysian flag.![]() |
