I heard the woman lock the door. "Ok guys," I said to my friends. "What's the first thing we have to do?"
"I don't know." There were numerous replies saying the same thing.
"Wait, what's that supposed to mean?" Tiago said, pointing to an inscription on the wall.
"Oh, yeah!" Leo said. "What does that mean?"
"Wait," Adam pointed to the side of a large block. "There are signs and letters on the block!"
"Wait! The signs are the same as the signs on the inscription!" Julian said.
After a while of trying to decipher what the inscription meant, we realized that it was telling us to cover the eyes, which were on both sides of the door.
We covered the eyes, but nothing happened. We called the lady with the phone she had gave us to ask her about why nothing was happening. She told us that because we didn't want to be separated, there was no effect. If we wanted to be separated (by the door), the door would open if the eyes were covered.
We went back behind the door to try to decipher the code behind it. There were 2 different sets of codes. We found 4 pictures in sets of 2 each. Each set was locked with a combination lock. After a while of deciphering (again...), we managed to find the code for each of the locks.
We put the pictures on the large blocks with the names of the Egyptian Gods. Each picture was a depiction of the Gods, so we put them according to their names on the stilts. But nothing happened.
Then, we received a call telling us that we had to hang them up. And so, we did just that. As soon as we finished hanging the pictures up, a mechanical box opened. Inside it was a feather.
"Wait!" Tiago exclaimed. There was a picture of the Egyptian God of the Dead, Anubis. There was also a weighing scale with blocks by the end of the ropes. "That goes on the weighing scale!"
"Yeah!" I said, agreeing with him. "If a person's soul was heavier than a feather, then the person would go to hell. If a person's soul was lighter than a feather, then the person would ascend into heaven."
"But why isn't the 2nd box opened?" Leo asked.
"Maybe because you didn't put it in correctly?" He asked sarcastically.
I went and repositioned the picture. Suddenly, the 2nd box started opening. Inside the box was a heart.
"I told you!" Tiago said happily. We put the heart on another block. But nothing happened.
Then, we received a call from the woman. "Change the sides of the feather and heart," She told us.
After we changed the sides of the feather and heart, a cabinet started opening.
"Hey!" I shouted. "These are the heads of the Egyptian Gods! I think that we're supposed to put their heads on the stilts!"
We put the heads on the stilts, but nothing happened. Adam went to grab the broken picture and "English Dictionary" (the dictionary was locked) to see if we could do anything with it.
We received another call from the woman. "Try pushing something big." She told us.
Julian pushed something that looked like a door disguised as a wall. It spun open.
I looked inside. It was dark and (somewhat) creepy. I looked at one of my friends. He looked scared. "Look, I know the music never helps, but we're going to get out of here." Tiago assured him.
We found a box inside the dark room, which unfortunately, was locked. We also found a key. The key looked like it could open the "English Dictionary". Inside the "English Dictionary", we found two magnets.
"Maybe the locks for this box are magnetic!" Tiago said.
We put the magnets on top of painted keyholes, and the box opened. We found the combination to a combination lock in the box. There was also a coffin in the shape of a pharaoh. There was another combination lock on it. We managed to open the lock, but couldn't open the coffin. We then recieved a call from the woman. She told us to "blow out the candles". We did just that and opened the door. There was a curtain. We shoved the curtain aside, and the coffin introduced us to the exit of the room.

Slice Of Life #216 - Chinese Chess - Tuesday, June 4th, 2019
Okay... My chess class is over. Today, I had my Chinese Chess class, and I have to say, I learned a lot. The person that teaches me chess is an "international grand master". He competes internationally and arises as the champion in almost all of the competitions he attends.
Before class, I was working on my Free Choice Writing Project (FCWP) so that I could get it finished before the end of the school year. I would then be able to publish it and have it put in the "5DH Library".
I had gone down about 15 minutes before 7:00 (the time my chess class was supposed to start) to get my chess set out and organize everything. After that, I sprinted back up the stairs, taking them 2 by 2, just to get up so I could work on my FCWP.
I finished writing chapter 11 of my FCWP when I heard the sound of a doorbell. Again, I sprinted, but this time down the stairs (*Please do not sprint up or down the stairs at home. In fact, don't sprint up or down the stairs anywhere. You could get seriously injured and you may or may not end up with a broken body part.*). I watched as my teacher came into my house.
We started to play some chess. I improved every time I played it. I moved my horse. "Thank you!" My teacher said as he ate my horse with an elephant (I'm playing Chinese Chess, and Chinese Chess is different from normal chess).
"Dang..." I said. I made another move, eating a soldier with my car. My teacher moved his horse.
We kept on playing. After a while, my teacher told me that I had already won. All I had to do was move my car down. My cannon was positioned in a spot where I could eat the king if he moved to the left, and my horse could eat the king if he moved forward. Now that my car was in position, the king couldn't go anywhere without being eaten.
We played one more round of chess. After that, my teacher started teaching me a few things. He put a few chess pieces on the chess board. "Do you know how to win?" He asked me.
I started messing around and trying to figure out how to win, but after about 3 minutes, I asked my teacher how to win. "Look, it's pretty easy. You mark this elephant. The elephant will move up. Because you are already marking the elephant, you eat it. If the other elephant decides to eat you, your king can afly over and eat the other king. Then, you can win."
He started testing me to make sure I understood. When I didn't know what piece to move (and it was a really easy decision), he would make me think so that I would remember it for a long time.
"Don't worry if you forget what to do. We're humans, not computers. Computers will never forget things, but humans will." My teacher told me.
He kept on teaching me new things. After that, we played another match. And just like that, my class was over.
I had learned a lot today.

A Meaningful Night
My heart was beating fast as I walked to the front of the stage. With confidence, I said my first line, loud and clear."So, what's next?"
My friends replied me, saying their lines. And soon enough, we were off, swiftly saying our lines.
Not after long, we reached the conclusion.
"So the next time you use single-use plastics, think about the next 10 generations after us." I said.
"'Cause these problems keep getting bigger and bigger." Linnea said.
"And when these problems actually strike, the whole world will be in crisis." Karen said.
"So please, when it's child labor or plastic pollution, go home and reconsider all this now." I said.
"Because if we don't you'll find out soon enough that we're destroying what we call," Karen said.
"Home, sweet, home." We all said together.
I heard footsteps behind me as my classmates all stumbled to the front of the stage.
I heard Linnea's 1st foot tap, signalling for us to get ready.
And as soon as she was done with her 3rd foot tap, we took a deep breath and started to speak.
"BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION AND NOT THE POLLUTION, BECAUSE US KIDS, DESERVE A BETTER FUTURE!" We all shouted together.
The audience clapped and cheered. "Nice job, kids!" I heard Ms. Schneider say as we filed off the stage.
Success! I thought as I walked back to my seat.
We had planned this performance for a long time now, and after a month of hard work, we had finally put it into action. The Night of the Notables performance was not over. The Night of the Notables performance was a performance that Grade 5 did every year. The performance was performed for the parents.

| Karen, me, and Linnea (from left to right) |
I think that memorizing my lines was somewhat challenging for me. I don't really know why this was a challenge for me, but after a while of practicing and checking my lines again and again, I was able to overcome my challenge and memorize my lines.
There were also a few things that I learned about myself because of this performance. I learned that I had a better imagination than I expected because I was able to use my writing skills to make meaningful lines for the performance.
From watching from the other performances, I realized everyone was able to project their voices so that everyone could hear what they said. I also learned a lot about child labor and animal testing because the other classes were able to confer their information pretty well to the audience.
I wouldn't change anything about the performance because I thought everyone did pretty well.
I think that I will take a few actions because of the ideas presented at the Night of the Notables performance. I will try to use less plastic and only buy products that do not use animal testing.
Night of the Notables is a performance that Grade 5 makes every year. And from this performance, we help make the world a better place. If every school in the world did this, the world would be an amazing and peaceful place.
Because us kids, deserve a better future! Because if this continues, kids in the future generations won't know the true definition of a future. Because they won't have a future.

Electricity in Our Body - Thursday, 15/11/2018
Yesterday, we had a really fun activity where we experimented with Makey-Makey's. I thought the activity was really fun and really used a lot of our brain power (which is good, by the way - in my opinion, at least). During Science time, our technology teacher, Mr. Katz, brought a few Makey-Makey's to show us and let us experiment with them. We had to connect the Makey-Makey's to the computer, and make a sound with it. There was a Makey-Makey software, where we could play songs with it by pressing the keys (it was a small piano with 6 notes) . Our 1st challenge was to make sounds on the "piano" without touching the keyboard. After about 3 minutes of messing around, we found out that all we had to do was to make the wires with "alligator clips" touch the metal parts on the top side of the Makey-Makey, which were labeled Earth. Different sounds would be produced as the different wires touched the Earth area.
Our next challenge took a long time to figure out. We had to find out how to make sounds on the piano without touching the Makey-Makey, but just touching the tip of the wires. After connecting every wire to the Makey-Makey, there was one wire left, and that was the yellow wire. We took the yellow wire and attached it to the Earth section. Because 2 wires were able to transfer electricity to each other, when we made the metal tips of 2 wires touch, they made a sound on the piano. But that's constantly holding the key down, and if it's constantly holding the key down, I can only make one sound! I thought. I told my teammates what I thought.
"At least it's a start..." Hwan, my teammate said.
My other teammate, Ivan, began messing around, connecting all the wires together, trying to find out a way to pass the electricity from one wire to the other, making the piano on the computer sound. Then it worked. But how? Then we realised. Water is a good conductor of electricity, and our body is composed of mostly water, which meant that our body was the thing that was transferring the electricity to the other clip to make a sound!
"Congratulations," Mr. Herbert, my homeroom teacher said. He walked up to the front of the class and grabbed an orange basket with holes. The basket was filled with vegetables and other things. "Sort out the things in here that conduct electricity, and the ones that don't. Because we knew that things with water conducted electricity, we were able to sort it out fast.
Next, we connected clips to the objects, and touched the objects to make sounds on the computer. I managed to play the really good sounding band song we are currently playing - we are going to be playing it at the concert.
After coming back from our 5 minute break (for us to go to the toilet and talk to our friends), Mr. Herbert showed us things that he called energy sticks. When he touched both ends of the energy sticks, they would light up because the energy was going through your body. In other words, you were completing the circuits. I thought that even if the whole class held hands, the sticks would light up.
When we all held hands together, the energy sticks lit up. YES! I was correct! We did the same thing with 2 sticks, and the 2 energy sticks lit up also!
Throughout this lesson, I learned a lot of valuable things. It never came to my mind that energy could flow through my body, but now I know that my little body is capable to doing many things!

Flowing Swiftly Like Water - 13/11/2018
Throughout the week (or 2 weeks, maybe), we worked on learning about energy and circuits. Because we were in the "Sustainable Energy" unit, our teacher arranged times for us to go to the science lab below us (if you drilled a hole below our class, you would have to walk only a few meters to get to the science lab).
In the first class, we learned about circuits. A circuit is a little like a circle, and is used to pass the current of electricity along. We had a box, where we had to figure out how to use some wires, a battery, and make a bulb light up. Because I had never done it before, I found it a little challenging at first (like, the very, very, first - I know it doesn't make sense), but I got the hang of it and found out how to make it work. After that, we had to find out how to make the bulb brighter with 2 batteries. Ok, yes, it was pretty obvious. We just used 4 clippers and connected it to one lightbulb. 2 batteries would be able to power up a lightbulb and make it brighter. Ok, after everyone was done connecting the 2 batteries to the lightbulb (It only made it slightly brighter), we had to make the bulb even brighter. Because we had joined forces, we now had 8 clippers to use, and we had already used 4. My partner, James, thought "More electrons, more light. The clippers are used to let electrons pass, so all we have to do is add extra clippers!" It worked. After completing all these activities, we had to do some paperwork. (Sometimes I just wish we can just do fun things and not do paperwork - LOL) After 2 days, we went down for the science lab again for our 2nd activity - learning about how switches work. We had everything we used in the 1st activity, but we had a cardboard, 2 fasteners, and a paper clip. Because I already knew a little about conductors of electricity, it was pretty easy for me. We just had to put the paper clips through the fasteners, and poke the 2 fasteners through the cardboard. Under the cardboard, we put the clippers at the end of the fasteners so we can ensure that the fasteners don't fall off, and the electricity gets passed onto the fasteners, which are conductors of electricity. Paper clips are made of metal, and metal is a conductor of electricity, so it can pass the current of electricity to the clippers, which will transfer the electricity to the lightbulb so it can light up. If you pull the paper clip upwards, you would brake the circuit, and the lightbulb would turn off.
In the 3rd and final activity, we worked on "circuit puzzles". We all had a "booklet", which had names of fruits on them. This was so we could see what puzzles we had already done, and which puzzles we needed to work on. On the top, there were holes. We could see foil in some of the holes, and in some of the holes, there were no foil, so it was black. The foil was connected to other holes, and we had to use 2 clippers and touch the parts with foil to see which parts were connected and which parts were not. If the foil was connected, the lightbulb would light up, indicating that the circuit was complete. Your goal was to find all the places where the foil was connected, write down what you think, and flip the first page to see what was under. If you was correct, you would get happiness, and if you was wrong, it was okay.
From these 3 classes, I learned that things as simple as a paper clip and cardboard can make lots of things happen. Small things really have the potential to make a miracle.

Slice Of Life #135 - ISA Testing - Tuesday, 2/10/2018
Boy, am I relieved know that ISA testing is over. Over the past 2 days, we had the International Schools Assessment (ISA). Over the past couple of weeks, kids just like me in international schools were going to be doing a test just like this, according to their grade. In our school, grades 3-10 would do the ISA test, while grades 11 and 12 would be studying for their IB exams, which was way more important than the ISA test. Yesterday, we had 2 math tests and 1 narrative writing test.
In my opinion, the math tests weren't too hard, but the narrative writing test took a lot of creativity. They gave us a topic, which was A COMPUTER IN A RUBBISH BIN, WHICH I THINK IS A PRETTY BAD TOPIC. Ok, it was a good topic, but it would be considered 'a weird topic'. In the end, I decided to write about how the computer belonged to a undercover CIA agent, and the CIA agent had to go and get his computer back. Another thing I was concerned about was the time limit. We were given 30 minutes, and with a topic like this, I think we really should have longer time to write the story.
Today, we had a reading test and a opinion writing test. I found a few of the questions in the reading test challenging, but in the end I think I managed to find the correct answer. Well, I'm pretty confident with my answer.
After lunch, we had the writing test. Now came another topic. Music is not just fun, but is also good for you. I knew that music was good for you, but I was only able to come up with 2 reasons. Music can brighten someone's day and reduce stress and help with depression. Playing a musical instrument may help you to make new friends, and may also improve their motor and cognitive skills and build new connections between your neurons. I would usually write 5 paragraphs, but because I didn't have enough reasons, I had to stick with 4. I think I did pretty well in this test, and I hope to see some good results (well, everyone does).

Slice Of Life #113 - I ALMOST FORGOT - Tuesday, 1/5/2018
Okay. I am currently really stressed out. I totally forgot about Slice of Life. It is currently slightly pass my bedtime, and my mom just reminded me about Slice of Life. She then gave me 10 mins to write this post. This is quite a decent time for me because I can write quite a lot of things in 10 mins on the computer. (It has currently been 2 mins since I first got on the computer).
I told myself that I would just do a rush post. I was not going to miss another 'slice'. I had missed 1 post, and I also missed another, but I technically did not miss that day, because even though it was Wednesday here in Malaysia, it was still Tuesday in the US. So, I did not miss that day. What should I talk about now? I don't know.
Did I just spell 'about' wrong? I don't think so. You heard nothing. (Actually, I did misspell 'about' just now, but that was nothing.) Wait. It's already 10:13! 5 mins have passed now. What in the world! 10 mins is almost up. Anyways, I am very surprised because I usually excell in remembering to write my 'slices', so I don't know why today I forgot. Maybe it's just because today's a holiday. I just have a good feeling that I wrote my post because I won't have to worry about missing another 'slice'. What is wrong with me! I keep spelling 'slice' wrong!
10 mins almost up. Clock is ticking. Still have 3 mins left. I think I just have to say GTG! Oh, and FYI, GTG stands for 'Got to go!'. Oh, and BTW, FYI stands for 'For Your Information'. Oh, and just saying, BTW stands for 'By The Way'.
Bye!!!!!!!!!

Slice Of Life #109 - In School - Tuesday, 3/4/2018
Currently, I am in school with free blogging time. Hey! I thought. Why not write my Slice Of Life! And so I did. But again, everyone is typing on their computers and I can't hear anything because there is music that is blaring in my ears, blocking all of my hearing. But in the first place, no one is talking in the first place.Oh, and just a sneak peek, my earbuds just cracked a little. The good news is the fact that I still can hear the music. I will try and using tape, but the tape hurt my ears, so I quit trying. I am currently asking myself WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TYPING TODAY? I am typing a lot of words wrong. But now I am finally not typing wrong words anymore.
A classmate beside me is typing a post about her vacation, but I already wrote about my vacation (not really a vacation because it was just 1 week). "Are we allowed to listen to music?" She just asked me.
"Yes," I replied, annoyed that she is distracting my post (actually, she's giving me things to write about). I just made the music softer because the music was too loud. Wow! I am currently thinking this. She's listening to Mozart songs and the whole video is an hour long (I think it's an hour long). Anyways, I still have nothing to write about.
I am now looking around the room at things that were here since the beginning of the year. Wait. I just realized why I spelled some words wrong now. My fingers shifted to the incorrect position when I was looking around the room and on the lookout for things to write about.
What is wrong with this 'Grammarly' app now? And now 'Grammarly' making me spell its name correctly. And it dosen't let me put an apostrophe on it's. Now I just changed the song to a top 15 best songs playlist and the song that is playing right now is really good. Wait. My teacher is calling me.
Apparently, she wanted to correct me and tell me that when you have a fraction you have to add it with a fraction, and not with a decimal. The same thing goes for decimals. She told me it wasn't wrong, but she wanted to tell me to make it fraction + fraction, and decimal + decimal.
Woah... Now Grammarly is correcting me again and I have put a comma after 'apparently'. I know you have to do that, but can I at least correct my own grammar?????? And it is now telling me that 'doesn't' is spelled wrong and that I have to change it to doesn't. Well, he's writing it in British English, so I don't care.
Aowww! My earbuds are stuck in my ear! How do I get this out? I am carefully pushing the earbuds to the side of my ear so it doesn't touch my ear. 'Don't mine at night! How many times do I have to say? Drop the pick and walk away. Remember last time I tried to mine at night? I failed! I died! I lost all my stuff!' The song is really good, but only when you have the music and not just the lyrics.
Yay! My friend is reading my 100th post!! He commented on it! I replied! Ok. That was boring.
Ok. Now, I have 4 more mins, so I have to publish this post now. Thanks for reading!!!

Slice Of Life #100 - 100 Slices! - Friday, 23/3/2018
After so long, I am finally on my 100th slice! I have to say, writing slices has changed me a lot. I was talking to my teacher yesterday about what I should do for my 100th slice. As I am currently writing this, I am listening to the song "Believer".
On my 100th slice, I am very grateful for lots of things. Slicing has actually built me up in terms of writing and studies a lot. I am thankful and grateful to my parents, for giving me time to slice, and often putting slicing first. I am grateful to my 3rd-grade teacher, Ms. Victor for telling me about this "Slicing" thing. I am grateful to my computer and keyboard for not lagging and letting me do slicing. I am grateful to everyone who reads my blogs, because I've actually met some people that my parents' might know, but I don't know. Those people claimed that they've read my blog, which I don't know how they even got the link to my blog. I'm grateful to my parents' friends for reading my blog and commenting on them. I'm grateful to my friends for reading my blog. I'm grateful to my self for having all this determination and persistence so I don't stop slicing. I'm grateful to everyone who has read my slices and also those who have commented on them.
I have lots of reasons to love slicing, and one of them is because it is just fun. I am always on the lookout for things to write about, my writing has improved, as I am now using internal thoughts.
Anyways, I think that I am going to stop writing now, and go because my free time is almost over. Thanks a lot for everything and all the support! YOU ALL MEAN THE WORLD TO ME!

Slice Of Life #97 - Nothing To Say - Tuesday, 20/3/2018
I have no idea what is wrong with me. I have totally nothing to say and I will probably get comments saying that this post is the most boring post ever. *Headsmack* Well, for one thing, I am certainly looking forward for my 100th post. I don't know how I will celebrate it. Maybe I'll do a small little dance (but you can't see it). This has to be on my blog. That is what I am thinking.
Anyways, back to the topic. Apparently I have decided to search up the definition of bored. Here is the definition of bored.
Anyways, back to the topic. Apparently I have decided to search up the definition of bored. Here is the definition of bored.
bored1
bɔːd/
adjective
adjective: bored
- feeling weary and impatient because one is unoccupied or lacks interest in one's current activity. - Google
That is how I am currently feeling. Not exactly, but you know what I mean. I also found out that there are other types of "bored". This is another example.
bored2
bɔːd/
adjective
suffix: -bored; adjective: bored
- (of a gun) having a specified bore. - Google
That is not how I am feeling, because this is not even a feeling. I don't even understand the definition. Apparently the origin of bored is a "Old English borian (verb), of Germanic origin; related to German bohren ." - Google. Those words were from Google, and certainly not my words.
My post will be ended here now. How are you feeling today? Tomorrow I will have something to write about. It's going to be better than this one.Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below. Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #95 - Camping - Sunday, March 18th, 2018
"Finally! We're here!" I squealed as we got off the car. I was so excited to go to my Cub/Boy Scout campout. The only sad thing was the fact that there was a lot of traffic. Me and my mom set up our tents, then transported our things inside the tent.
After that, I went to the forest and jungle to find my den. We were filming a movie, which was a requirement in order for us to earn our Webelos badge. My classmate, ZL, who was a girl, came to the camp, but (she didn't really participate - she didn't help in doing anything except keep her annoying brothers away) she didn't get to do anything. HA-HA!
I was the producer, but my best friend, T, was director, and he was acting a shark scene, so I got to take over as director. I got to have the script the whole time, and whenever they messed up, the word "CUT!" would immediately come out of my mouth.
After filming, we just got to do some fun stuff. We got to do a scavenger hunt after our pack leader briefed us on what was allowed and not allowed.
Dinnertime was one of the most funnest times. I got to eat dinner with my friends, but sadly, I couldn't eat most of the food because of my allergies. We played around and talked about things that sadly, I will not tell you.
We got to make a real fire, and that was the funnest things. We had to find the wood to start the fire, and basically do everything. We made a fire that managed to burn for a really long time, which was alight when we performed our skits.
The Boy Scouts also thought us different skills such as first aid, pocketknife safety, fire starting, knot tying, and how to deal with flags.
I don't want to bore you to death, so I will end my post here. Those were the funnest parts of my Cub Scout camp. Have you ever went camping? Are you a Boy/Cub Scout? Have you ever made a real fire? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below. Slice Of Life #94 - So Busy - Saturday, March 17th, 2018
This post will be one of my shortest (and maybe one of my worst) posts because I am currently rushing and don't have a lot of time. My day was really packed, because first of all, I had a lot of classes, such as my swimming and my "piano practice class" because Monday was my examination. I would have had robotics, but I canceled it because I am going camping later with my Cub Scout troop. I am staying overnight with my dad, but my mom is going home. We borrowed a tent from my parents' friend, and I have a sleeping bag, but my dad is going to have to sleep with some pillows, mattress, and blanket. I think that I am going to end my post now, because I have to get to the campsite within one hour now, and I still need to eat lunch and take a bath. Bye for today!
Are you part of the scouting community? Have you ever went camping? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below. Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #92 - Games In My Malay Class - Thursday, 15/3/2018
I was at my Malay class and I had just finished writing 3 paragraphs for a essay.
My teacher clapped her hands, then declared: "Ok, you all have now finished 3 paragraphs, so you guys can play a game now."
We all wanted to play this game where we would have 2 or more rubber bands tied together. We would pull the rubber band back, (going scientific here) storing energy to shoot our rubber band. There was a box that was filled with people (cardboard people), and our aim was to try and shoot down as many people as possible with one shot. We would record the amount of people that we shot, and the winner is the one who shot the most people.
From Cub Scouting, I knew that standing in a straight, upright position was the best position for shooting bows and arrows, slingshots, etc. Shooting rubber bands are just like shooting bows and arrows, so I knew to stand in that position.
I put the rubber band on my index finger and made sure that the rubber band was just at the tip of my finger, so it wouldn't hit my finger and not fly. I pulled the rubber band as far as I could, keeping a good length so that my rubber band would not break.
I released my finger that was supporting the rubber band and let it fly. Off it went, pushing hard against the wind, creating a swosh! sound that rushed into our ears. Finally, it hit a person, and the person fell back and hit another person, triggering the person behind it to fall. It did the same thing again, just like a domino effect.
Yes! I thought. I just hit 3 people down!
When my friend shot, I didn't think that he would have enough power, but it turned out that he had enough power, but he didn't have enough accuracy. The rubber band that he shot was about half a meter off target.

Yes! I had won this round.
"Ok, Zhi Hong has won this round. Time for the next round." My teacher said.
"Yes! I won!" I shouted.
"Oh, yeah. It's not over yet. If you want a serious competition to see who's better, BRING IT ON!"

Slice Of Life #89 - Filming a Movie - Happened on Wednesday, 7/3/2018 - Monday, 12/3/2018
After my SLC (student-led-conferences), my whole Cub Scout troop, including me, filmed a movie. This was part of our movie-making badge, which was a optional badge to earn. The important badges were about first aid, duty to God, fire safety, etc. Those where the required badges for your Webelos and Arrow of Light badge.
We had spent a few meetings drafting the movie, and I was the one that did most of the work because I was the producer. The producer had to draft the script, although we drafted the script together. For no apparent reason, 1/16 of everyone else's time was spent playing 4 square.
We managed to take lots of scenes, and I was allowed to transport all the equipment, which was actually quite fun. I also got to look at the camera whenever I wanted, because the producer was the most highest rank. I had to position all the people, and tell them what to do. Sometimes, I even had to act it out for the actors because they didn't really memorize the script yet, or they were doing it wrong. My 2nd best friend, TJ, was the prop director and the producer, while my best friend T was the director. I usually motioned to T to yell "CUT!" because the actors were messing up, but ended up yelling it myself.
The most funniest part was when we were shooting a "calling" scene where 2 people were calling each other, but N dropped his phone, and 5 secs later, the word "CUT!" was yelled by my friend. Usually, directors are supposed to wait a few seconds before they were allowed to yell cut, but I actually don't know why.
Don't want to brag, but our movie should be the best, because our den leader Agung, was a professional photographer, so he had really good HD cameras. I found out that the cameras were really expensive, because he told us that just the lens of the camera itself cost $7,000. That's 28,000 MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) , which is the currency that we are using here in Malaysia.
Now, we don't have a lot of scenes left to shoot, but there is still lots of things to do, because editing takes quite a while. Also, each scene takes us at least 5 mins to film, usually 10-20 mins. Are you a Cub/Boy Scout? Have you ever made a movie? Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below. Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #84 - SLC (Student-Led Conferences) - Wednesday, 7/3/2018
Today was the very day of SLC (Student-Led Conferences). I had a stomach ache that morning (that's probably going to be my 87th post), which was a really bad start to the day. I was walking to my class, prepared to tell my parents what I had been doing in class. I got a slip of paper from my teacher, which told me where to go first, and where to go after that.
My first station was the math station. I showed them my math notebooks and also our "unit books", which were books about each unit that we had (ex: measurement, multiplication and division, equivalent fractions, etc). I was proud of my post assessment, and also how I could convert and add very well. After that, I played a math game with my parents. I completely dominated them because they didn't play with skills (as I like to say), and also because their denominators were too big.
After the math station, we had the science/reading station. I showed my parents my science notebook, and also my research notebook. I also showed them me reading a book for research, which I pre-recorded. We also did a Quizlet (Quizlet is a app to help you learn), which my parents were really good at (only when we did learn) When we did the test, my parents were really bad because they didn't know how to spell the things. Another reason is because when we did learn, they just had to guess because the words were alike to the pictures and the definitions, and also because they were able to remember what they had already selected (Quizlet link here).
The station after that was my writing station. I showed my parents my writing notebook (I think that you should have guessed that without needing me to tell you). My writing goal was to keep on writing. Writing was my favorite subject in school, and I told my parents all about it.
Our last station was to meet my teacher (This paragraph is going to be shortened a lot because there are some things that I want to keep private here). My teacher told my parents my strengths and my weaknesses, and that was about it.
Do you have SLC in your schools? What did you do today? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below. Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!

Slice Of Life #82 - AI Technology - Monday, 5/3/2018
My family and my parents' friends' family ate dinner together. Before dinner, we were talking about robots and AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology. We talked about how next time the world could be full of robots and how some companies already started trying to use drones to send products to others. My dad also said that he watched some videos and said that there is also technology now to help drones avoid hitting things. He watched some test videos of drones. There would be a drone that would try and dodge the other drone that was trying to catch him.
After we ate dinner, he showed all of us a video (my dad). Someone was interviewing Sofia the robot from Hanson Robotics. I thought that it was really cool because Sofia was acting like a normal person. My parents' friends' kids were really surprised because it was a robot. I could see the gears turning inside Sofia's brain. I thought of all the code that it would take to make a AI robot because I know that making a robot itself takes lots of code.
The most intresting part was when the interviewer asked if Sofia liked the movie 'Black Mirror' she said that she did not know the movie 'Black Mirror'. Later, when he asked Sofia what movies she liked, one of them was 'Black Mirror'. I was really surprised because that meant that Sofia was able to download and watch the whole movie in the time the person asked her about 2 questions.
I think that how the world is going deeper into technology and creating more and more complicated robots is very cool. I cannot imagine what the world will be in the future. What do you think will happen in the future (in terms of technology - technology in terms of electrical technology). Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Slice Of Life #81 - Bored - Sunday, 4/3/2018
I am currently very bored. I just watched videos on YouTube. I just ate breakfast. Now, I am writing this post. I am out of ideas. My dad is not here. He is attending a seminar. So, I am very bored. Wait. I just realized. My dad's birthday is coming up soon. Maybe I should write a card for him (I'm actually planning to write an email instead. Saves paper). I take that back.
I am going to do homework. Just kidding. I am currently very bored, but I think that I should talk about a game that I am playing. I am currently playing a very fun hotel game. You have to build and run a hotel, but you have to be smart. You want to be making profit, and not want to be losing money. That is the catch. You can't be too selfish and make a really massive hotel, because then you will have to bare the expenses of losing money. Anyways, let's just get to the story.
Business is booming, and I am very happy. I have just made $561. I just checked how much money a guest has spent, and it seems like he has spent $830. That man must be rich! Oh shoot! I just checked my statistics and I am losing money! My business is not going well! I am earning more money, but I going to take a big risk. Buying 4 more rooms!
I don't understand this game. I really don't! A customer spent $1050 on my hotel! What is life? It's my birthday in the game (with the fact that I wasn't even born yet)! I just fired a engineer for fun. *Not exactly* I fired the engineer because I found out that I hired 2 engineers. I just want to say "Sorry" to the engineer that I fired. I had to. It was for my business.
WHAT IS LIFE? I'm currently just sitting here and someone just spent $1126, which is enough to pay for my total rooms keeping! I'm not having any negatives this month!
Just checked. I have only $52 profit. Shoot!
I'm just going to end my post here.
You should play this game! It's really fun! If you ever play this game, tell me your progress down below in the comment section below! I would love to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below. Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!
P.S Link to the game here!

Slice Of Life #80 - Laser Tag - 3/3/2018 - Happened Today
Ok. I just came home from a birthday party. I am so exhausted. We played laser tag. Ok, let's just get to the point.
"Me and my mom were walking on the 7th floor to go to my friend's birthday party. I found the laser tag area, and walked in. My friends were all already in there.
"Finally! You came!" My friend exclaimed.
I was really excited to get going. A person that worked at the laser tag area, who was going to be our guide for the day told us all the events and the activities that we could choose from, but only could do 2 activities. We had decided for the first round to be the solo round. The guide told us that we could get powerups from shooting the targets on the walls, and to earn points we would shoot other people (duh!). He also told us that there were 6 targets. 2 shoulder targets, 2 targets by your tummy, one target on your back, and also a target on your gun. To shoot with your gun, you needed both hands to be on your gun, because one hand was supposed to be on the trigger, and one was supposed to be on the sensor so you could shoot. If you got shot, you would not be able to shoot for 5 seconds. That was all. He told us that direct contact was not allowed, and we went into the arena.
I spread out from everyone, and the radio announced that the game was starting in 5 seconds. I held my gun tight and started to walk around the arena. I found my best friend T, but he didn't shoot me. I managed to shoot him.
"Whoa! Cheats!!!"
I just ignored his comment and ran away from him, knowing that he could get me after 5 seconds. Not long later, I was part of a 4 people shootout. We were all hiding behind walls and trying to hit each other. I hit a the birthday boy and his brother, and they both ran away. I think that the reason that I was able to land hits on them was because my shots were both timed and aimed, unlike most people would-just continuously pull the trigger again and again.
Lots of things happened after that, but eventually my friends told me to stop shooting. They had a serious tone in their voice, so I walked to their direction to see what was happening. The birthday's boy's (who I'm just going to call TJ) brother was injured and crying.
"What's happening?" I asked them.
"He's injured." They replied.
What are TJ, B, and T doing then? Their boy scouts just like me. The 1st thing to do in this situation is obviously to get help! I thought.
"Ok. I'll go get medical attention." I said, even though it was not exactly medical attention.
"I'll come with you." TJ added (my best friend T and a good friend B were taking care of him).
We found our way to the door where we came in, but it was not a door that you could pull.
"Shoot." TJ said.
"I think I know what to do."
I pressed the button that said press, because of logic (yeah...).
The door did not open. TJ decided to try and pull the door open, and I tried to pull it open the other side. The door still did not budge. I decided to give the button one more try, so I smashed the button hard.
The door finally opened. We went into the place where we put on our suits, and found the door. We smashed the button again. That door opened. We ran and rushed to find TJ's parents.
"My brother's injured." TJ said.
"What?" TJ's mom asked.
"Just follow us." We replied.
We quickly led TJ's mom to the place that TJ's brother was, and our guide and TJ's mom took care of him.
What would you do if you was in a situation like this? Have you ever helped someone that was injured? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! P.S: If you want to see what happened in the other 2 rounds, the team round and the apocalypse round, be sure to tell me in the comments section below! Also, comments are deeply appreciated.

Slice Of Life #79 - Currently - Friday, March 2, 2018
I finally get to slice every single day! That was what I wrote for the 2nd reason why I WILL and TOTALLY and MUST "slice" (look at yesterday's slice linked here). Yes, I am obviously continuing my Slicing streak! I WILL AND TOTALLY AND MUST 'slice'. Why? That's just my life.
Currently...
I am writing my Slice Of Life at school (my teacher is giving us free time).
Juliet said that she would comment on today's post if I commented on hers, so I will.
Our assistant, Ms. Jag, just walked into the classroom for whoever knows why.
Girls are chatting and hanging out.
I am rolling my eyes (LOL).
Juliet just said that she is not going to the bathroom with one her friends.
"Yeah, I don't want to," she replied.
"I'm hungry, my tommy's rumbling..." she says again.
My teacher walked out of the class to hush random people (I don't care to write their names)
Juliet is calling me weird.
Juliet is calling me socially awkard (#STOPZHIHONGABUSE)
Oh, also, 1 comment = Juliet will stoop abusing me.
JULIET WANTS TO FIGHT ME! I AM TRIGGERED!
I am still triggered.
A girl does not know how to spell my name.
I am even more triggered.
Now Juliet is calling me names (I hope my teacher sees this and gets her in trouble *Just kidding*)
About to explode.
Daniel is talking to his best friend.
Sahana is suggesting that I change and delete all of this. (BTW, this will never happen - ever)
Edwin said that his mom is a bad, bad mom (I don't think so)
Juliet is asking one of her best friends to go and sit down and eat dinner - with the fact that it is still 11:20 in the morning.
Mason is looking at my computer for whoever knows why.
Ok, peace out! I don't have anymore time. See you tomorow!

Slice Of Life #78 - Finally!!! - Thursday, 1st March, 2018
Finally!!! Slice Of Life is finally back! I managed to slice every Tuesday so far (well, I missed 1)... I'm just happy for the fact that I can finally "slice" everyday now! New month, new year, new March, new time to "slice", another time for a new, good, introduction for a new series of "slicing"! I'll like to kick it off and start the new season of slicing fresh with a...
Oh, and don't forget, look at my 31st slice, the last slice that I last did in the last season of slicing. A good way to start and end the season.

Oh, and don't forget, look at my 31st slice, the last slice that I last did in the last season of slicing. A good way to start and end the season.

31 Reasons That I WILL and TOTALLY and MUST "slice"
- I sliced last year, and I am totally continuing that. (As you can see, this is my 79th slice, and I have sliced every Tuesday, with the fact that I missed it once.)
- I finally get to slice every single day!
- Slicing only on Tuesdays are boring.
- It's your choice, no one tells what to write about.
- You won't regret writing "Slice Of Life".
- Your keyboarding skills improves tremendously (out of all the typing I do every week, about 30% is spent doing Slice Of Life. Don't want to brag, but slicing has helped me type faster and faster and now my fastest speed is 79 WPM - Words Per Minute)
- People comment on your posts and help you improve!
- Your writing improves tremendously.
- You have people to encourage you.
- You get to see what is happening in other people's lives.
- You get to help others improve by commenting, which I like to call "a random act of kindness".
- You have a whole bunch of posts. - That's what I like...
- You learn new things.
- You are keeping an electronic diary.
- It's way more funner than just writing plain writing (that's if you don't like writing, because I love writing! It's my passion!)
- It comes in a package of 31 days of fun.
- You get a chance to reflect on yourself.
- You might find out new things about yourself.
- You learn more about how blogger works (hahaha...)
- You share your story rather than just keeping the story to yourself.
- You learn about others peoples' lives in other places.
- You really think hard and find out things that you never knew before.
- There are so many different ways that you can do Slice Of Life.
- As my friend Juliet likes to say, you get to interact with people.
- You find out new ways of writing.
- For me, it counts as homework (just saying...)
- It prepares me for my future, where I might have to write reports (I mean lots of them, which makes me happy)
- It builds up my writing strength so I can get more extending grades in writing (I just wished that I could get everything extending...)
- It's just awesome!
- I never run out of ideas!
- You never know what will happen, and what you will write.
How do you feel to finally be able to do Slice Of Life again? Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for reading my blog! Feel free to leave any comments that you have in the comments section below. Stay updated for some other good posts and please return to my blog!
